How many “dog behaviors” does your cat exhibit? Not for the stereotypical aloof cat

I have three cats, and a dog...

- greet at the door? the dog always does, yes... but the younger of my cats does it too, and the other two cats sometimes show up as well, if I have been gone "for long"

- sleep with you at night? they do it sometimes, yes... but not all the time, most of the time it depends on the weather but also their moods... especially with the cats, sometimes they find a favorite spot, other times they switch often... winter/summer days... AC on, AC off... all of these are factors for them, same for the dog who sometimes sleeps close, but other they sleep near or at "reach"... I do leave my door open, so they can came and go as they please during the night/morning which is when I sleep

- sit on your lap while working/watching stuff... yes, the dog likes to do that sometimes, but the cats as well..

the cats though, not just the lap, but my chest, my shoulder, my neck or my face... they snuggle wherever they want, lol but yeah... the dog does it more often

but, they really are about moods... they also have their "me time" from time to time, or they hang out with each other (the cats)

My wife and I have 3 cats.
POTUS (Poatie) is a super fluffy, 19 lb, marmalade orange, 6 year old that we adopted when he was 4 months old. He is super sweet and gentle and loves being petted and brushed.

The other two are brother and sister. A mama cat and three kittens started hanging around our front porch one day in late June 2025. We gave them food and water. They all gobbled food like they were starving. The kittens were tiny and still nursing. I figure they were no more than 6 weeks old.
They would come and go.
They got used to us and eventually let us pet them.
One day, the mama and two kittens disappears but one kitten stayed behind. At the end of the day, we decided to bring him inside. He acclimated immediately, made friends with our bunny and even played with Poatie. He even played with toys.
That was July 4.
He is silver-gray with black stripes and spots. We decided to name him Sterling.

A couple days later, the mama and kittens returned and kept coming and going. One of the kittens was really friendly.

When the mama and one kitten disappeared. The friendly one stayed behind. We brought her inside that night. She also acclimated immediately. She is cream colored with gray ears, legs, tail and gray markings on her face. We decided to name her Pearl.

It's nice that the brother and sister are together.

Mama and the other kitten no longer come around.

They are now around 9 months old, weight 9 lbs each, have luxurious fur and long tails as fluffy as squirrels.

They sometimes get wild, chase each other around the house, wrestle, and Poatie even gets involved and acts like a kitten at times now that they are around

They don't really have any dog characteristics.
They sleep a lot, sometimes with each other in our bedroom.

They are motivated by food.
When we come home, they gather around, pace, and look up at us expectantly, hoping for a snack of kibbles.

They usually wind up in our bed at night.

They like to be petted. Pearl, in particular, rolls onto her back and wriggles around, doing her best to be cute so that we will pet her.

They are not really lap cats but Sterling or Pearl will occasionally settle down in one of our laps, usually my wife's because she puts a fleecy blanket across her lap when she is in her chair.
Sometimes they sleep behind our heads on the backs of our chairs or sleep at our feet.
They like to be close but don't like to be picked up. They are gentle and don't struggle, but they look for an opportunity to get down.

We sometimes lure them into our laps with food and have taught them to take one kibble at a time from our fingers.

None of them has ever gotten angry, bitten, scratched, growled or hissed. None of them meow much except for short, high pitched, excited brrrrs and tiny mews when we are bringing their breakfast or dinner. And on rare occasions when Stirling is begging for a snack, he and my wife will have conversations.
"Mew."
"What?"
"Mew."
"Is that right?"
"Mew."
"You say you're starving?"
"Mew."

We like our kitties.

My cat is stereotypically aloof. She hates nearly everyone except me. She sleeps on top of me in bed, sits on my lap whenever she can and fetches* better than most dogs. *fetches small things.

My cats used to greet me at the door but I knew it was not because they liked me but just wanted food. Sometimes they would sleep t the foot of my bed but they never sat on my lap.
