Trending & News A little bit. I'm 35 and I'm not able to hug or kiss my Dad, we never had that type of relationship. This affected a lot of my relationships and interactions with Men when I was younger.
Can I just say
My parents were superficially his parents
But I think they were both limited in different ways
Which meant that I was limited in certain ways
Different to each but limited in my own way
But they in the official way of providing etc were good parents
Just I didn't feel it
same with me. I didn’t grow up rich but both my parents always provided for me and my brother. but the lack of affection from my Dad definitely affected me and clouded everything else that he’s done.
My parents abandoned me when I was 12, so 'emotionally distant' would be a massive understatement, but I got through it. It made me stronger in many ways.
Did they separate when you were 12?
And what did they do?
Leave you?
With grand parents?

My mother was not only distant with me but she hated me for being a boy. She loved my older sister who she let beat me up everyday she is 5 years older than me.
Parents who can't raise kids should have kids in first place.
