Gratitude is the root from which the divine blossoms.
As a root it has to be underneath. Yet, nearly always people define gratitude as a surface experience (like laughter or burst of happiness). They even encourage forced attempts to act out being as happy as possible over a gift they received and call it "gratitude".

But then it's just happiness, not gratitude. Gratitude is an accumulation of happiness-energy that you compress in yourself without trying to feel thrilled by it, much like keeping a straight face when you have an urge to laugh is a transmuted experience that strengthens the inner will.

Otherwise, you actually risk hating the most valuable things. If you turn your "gratitude practice" into saturating your dopamine receptors while thinking of something, you become desensitized and rebound in not seeing it as thrilling enough, less thrilling than the baseline before you took a moment to get excited over it.

If you compress happiness in yourself, not only do you avoid dulled craving neurochemical receptors, but you don't even require things to be thrilling and gift-like to appreciate them, you become filled with gratitude as a whole, not just for a specific thing. ㅤ

I am grateful for you asking this question I'm grateful for everything about life I'm grateful for everything I have I don't need anything I'm grateful for who I am I'm grateful that no matter what I went through it was well worth it to understand what I understand today and I hope I keep growing but I am grateful that I've got to come here and experience everything I'm grateful for understanding love and I will be super grateful when I can find that love but I'm grateful for everybody on here no matter what we are all in each other's lives and we all learn from each other because we are all meant to learn from each other we are all one conscious different bodies

How fun my life has been. I was super depressed when my family split apart and I remember praying to God saying if I'm gonna live my life alone and no one likes me then at least let me see and experience as much of life as possible.

And holy shit did he deliver. I fell in and out of love and experienced all different kinds of loyalty and betrayal, met and learned from so many different kinds of people started a television production company at 22 helped people find meaning in their life, get off drugs, start or even get back to their families, I got flown around the country and worked with celebrities and was the guy who saved the day a bunch and had my ass saved by people who were even smarter than me which I didn't even know those existed.

I crossed nearly everything off my sexual bucket list lol and most of the things on my regular one that actually matter are handled too. I learned to snowboard because of a friend I made while working at a restaurant and he asked me to DJ his party he was throwing with his girlfriend.

I've doubted myself so many times and cried and came so close to giving up so many times but I didn't. And I haven't even mentioned half of what I'm trying to communicate.

There's not a day that goes by that I don't think to myself that I'm so lucky to be me. Even now things are kinda shaky but I'm already on my way back up. And now I have the freedom to do whatever I want. Maybe I'll do something different from a production company this time.

That I didn't turn out to be a bigot despite the racist community that I grew up in which, ironically, helped me not become a racist. But, looking back, I think my parents were a major factor why I didn't grow up to be a racist; they never tried to dissuade me from admiring or interacting people who were not White or Christian. They, like me, were fine watching TV in which minorities were relevant (and this is not common when I was a kid growing up).

Top of the list: my wonderful wife of 30 years.

2. My house and 30 acres with my own well and water storage, septic system, solar voltaic system, small orchard, decorative and vegetable gardens.

3. Enough income and savings to live comfortably.

4. My health.

5. Memories of a wonderful life and amazing experiences.

Nothing everything i ever loved and cared about got taken from me and no amount of money or time can replace that

Family gone

Pets gone

And the woman i love with all my heart is no longer online 🤍 yes she's still alive which I'm grateful for but at what cost her health isn't the greatest (which I'm not going to discuss) and she's no longer online

Grateful for what sunsets and the little things but again at what cost horrible erratic weather
