One of the biggest life lessons that changed the way I see people happened to me back in high school π
I chose not to be friends with a group of loud, dramatic girls because that's just not who I am. I like peace, and I've never enjoyed gossip, bullying, or putting other people down. Instead of simply accepting that, they started calling me a "witch" and convinced other girls to avoid me too... It hurt at the time, especially because I hadn't done anything to them ππ
Looking back, I realized that not everyone dislikes you because you've done something wrong. Sometimes people get upset simply because you don't fit into what they expect or refuse to join in with behavior that doesn't feel right to you... That experience taught me to stop taking everyone's opinion personally and to value genuine people over popular ones!!
What's one life lesson that completely changed the way you see people?

There are two things that come to mind
First one was back in high school to.. there was a kid that rode my bus with me who was just different than everybody else he was kind of slow kind of a goofball
Didn't really have too many friends except for people that were just like him
One day I was walking down the hallway and there was some kind of chaos going on and as I walked by I could see somebody pushing somebody up against the wall and kind of slapping their face and as I walked by I realized it was JT the kids rode my bus and as I walked by I just kind of left it alone and I said wait a minute if I love that to happen that's just like me doing it so I turn back around pulled the guy off of them told them because there was more than one told them to leave him alone don't ever touch him again
Two days later Out in the middle of the Courtyard We had a thing called the senior benches if you weren't a senior you couldn't sit on them well JT sat on them and there was two seniors trying to put him in a garbage can
And I went and I stopped it and so they were going to put me in the garbage can they thought it didn't work out that way
And the next thing I know there's about 12 seniors a few of my friends saw what was going on and came to my rescue and the next thing I know the senior class wanted to meet the next day Saturday at school and we were all going to fight
Well of course my friends are saying yes I was saying yes and the next thing I know Saturday comes we all show up at the school except for my friends brought their friends that brought their big brothers and there was over a hundred of us and maybe 25 of them well
The seniors back down They tried to become my friend ask me why I was sticking up for the guy and I said because he's my neighbor and he can't stick up for himself
So I learned when you believe in something you have to back it
Monday came around I was called into the office same with a couple of seniors and from that moment on there was no more senior benches when they found out what was going on
The second thing is
All right I used to race dirt bikes in the desert and when you're going 60 70 80 90 miles per hour on terrain that you don't know what's in front of you you have to be looking 500 yards ahead at all times because it comes up fast and you have to be willing to take it on and you have to commit one way or the other and it's usually one way and that's with the throttle more power and fly and you can't be afraid you have to go you have to make it through there and keep going
So no matter what in life look ahead at all times commit and be willing to take it on
You're such a kind person, thank you for standing up for him
Being on here has probably been the biggest eye-opener. I knew there were some screwed-up people in the world, but I never realized how common they were until I joined this shitshow. Thankfully the real world is vastly different from GAG.
When I had all of my belongings stolen from me by my caregiver. I stopped trusting people after that.
Sorry about that
Let me guess they were short ugly bitches. And u were the Barbie
π I don't address people as ugly
Looks like they were clearly envious
I only realised that as an adult now, it did hurt back then
I donβt think u were hurt. U knew deep inside that they were beneath u
It did hurt me back then
Itβs called time needed to understand what happened , not hurt
If you say so
I dont want to say what experience but let just say I've realized everybody can't be trusted
Everybody?
Yes only certain people can be trusted the ones that earn your trust. Your trust should always be earned never given
Peer pressure can be strong, it is best to travel your own path
So true
Always quickly understand wrong people, so I am safe always.
Good for you
@Veronika_p but a group of drug addict friends teach me a good lesson, if I remember one incident.
become a Cop, EMT or Fire Fighter. you'll see.
