Your wife or your best friend?

is it true guys would put their best friend first before their wife?

I can't speak for other guys but my girlfriend is my best friend. Of course we've been together for 4 years now, but there is no way anyone would come before her. In honesty if you can put your best friend above the person you chose to spend the rest of your life with then you don't deserve them.

Now, I have a very different opinion if it is a newer couple. Hypothetically, in the first year of us being together if there was a problem between her and my best friend/s and I had to choose, I would have chosen my friends. I am well beyond that at this point though

No they each have their place. I never believed it when people say that their spouse is their best friend. Unless you tell your wife or husband everything and I mean every f***ing little thing. Everything you've done or any thought you've had no matter how horrible. If their is anything you have told someone else that you haven't told your spouse then they they are not your best friend. They are simply your spouse.

my grandfather always said my grandmother was his best friend. my dad wasn't married but lived with my mom for ten years and four kids. he thought him and my mom were best friends.. she thought differently. I think heard many men say their wives are their best friend. have not heard it as much from women. but statistically speaking. men more so than women rely on their relationships for friendship.

I think that while in a new or new-ish relationship, your friends should come first. But after a year or two of being with your partner, you should start putting them over your friends.

For me my fiance is my best friend, though I unfortunately am not her best friend, and I know full well, that if it ever came down between us, she'd far more likely side with her than me. It kinda sucks. Still, I guess for my best MALE friend I would say that my girl still takes priority. So in my case no I don't side with my best friend.

My dad always said that my mom is his best friend. I think that is crucial for husband and wife. But in the case of a same-sex best friend outside of marriage, that is a matter of circumstance. Nothing should ever impede upon your marriage.
