Is it true women use their peripherals to check out men?

One of my close friends and I were talking about who uses peripherals more when "checking out" a girl/guy.

She was using me to make a point. Saying I always "freeze up" whenever a cute girl comes by and I must be looking at her indirectly with the corner of my eye.

She didn't believe me when I told her I'm usually just thinking about something else. I'm pretty good with eye contact I think so in the past with girls I've been interested in, I wasn't ever shy to flirt with the eyes.

Anyways, our little talk sorta got me wondering... like since she brought it up last night I got to thinking and I do notice a lot of girls "freezing" whenever an attractive person walks by.

Like for example whenever I walk around with my friend at the mall, he's a solid 10, like he's fkn gorgeous male model with an amazing body. I do happen to realize a girl who seems to be glancing around from store to store window to stop looking around so frantically and she usually looks dead ahead with a blank look.

It's probably just a coincidence, what do you guys think?

Hmm when I see a really hot guy my eyes are drawn to him. I'll keep glancing at him and then looking away. Then I tell myself to stop looking at him lol, and pretty much keep him in my peripherals but don't directly look his way. I don't really stare dead ahead though, just not at him.

Oh, this is in the space of a couple minutes haha. So yeah, it's what I do when seeing really hot guys on the street.

Yeah I do that. I'm kind of slick when I check guys out in passing. I will make eye contact when I want him to approach me

She's one of the people I wouldn't mind spending 12 hours with, she's a great friend. And ya after knowing her for years we do tend to talk about some random things.
