Why didn't my ex accept my friend request?

so I sent my ex a fb request the other day and he never accepted it.. and he's been on cause my one friend is friends with him on fb and she saw him post something. we didn't end on a horrible not just an awkward one. he was the one that dumped me because we were doing long distance and it got to hard. but now we are living in the same city, and I'm finally over everything in the past, and I would love nothing more than to be his friend. but obviously he doesn't feel the same because he didn't even add me.. should I just cancel the friend request any advice ?

See it is not easy to overcome someone in a short period of time span and takes long time, so he might have sacrifice his feeling for you and might not want to go back to the same thing,

this is one practical reason I can think of and second can be he might be with someone now and want to be completely honest with her new Girlfriend without any issues popping up because of his ex.

maybe he has wrote some sh*t about you and he's like oh crap let me erase it first ha ha jk I don't know Facebook isn't anything if you want to be friends its real life and if its gonna be awkward then for what?!

Maybe isn't comfortable or he just wants to forget you? I went through the same thing. I didn't accept my ex's friend request because I just didn't want him in my life anymore. Even though we moved on, I just get annoyed seeing his name. I think you cancel it, if he wants to be your friend then Facebook can't tell you aren't just call or text him.

the dumpee sending a friend request is seen as an attempt to break the ice and get back together most of the time, he might be afraid you want to start things up again with him now you're back and he's moved on and doesn't want you in his life as a friend or gf

He either is or is trying to get over you so because of this he can't accept the request because that might cause him to start talking to you again but obviously he doesn't want to ??
