I really like these names as they sound sofisticated and timeless for me. It's a strong name with roots in royalty. Both names are latinate forms of Elizabeth, the only difference being Isabella (double L) is Italian and Isabela is Portuguese/Romanian.

They sound the same, but Isabella is way more common. I think I prefer Isabela because it has fewer letters so it looks cleaner. At the same time I feel like my kid is gonna have to correct people on her name's writing forever. Thoughts?

I love my parents so much, but I'm not what they wanted and it's breaking my heart and holding me back. They've spent so much money on me, sent me to college, helped me move from various apartments, had me over for dinner countless times, they tell me they love me... and yet my mom told me a couple months ago that I should never have kids because they're nothing but a big disappointment, and they favor my older brother despite the fact that he treats me like absolute dirt. They always side with him. He just got married last week and I gave him several hundred dollars as a gift, and he never even bothered to text me to say thank you. When I told my mom, she said that I was being catty and self absorbed and making everything about me. That's just one small example of what I've had to deal with my entire life. He visibly ignores right in front of them, and they say nothing about his behavior.

They knock down everything I do. I make a living wage as a receptionist and pay my own apartment rent and am ENTIReLY financially independent from them, and yet they still tell me my job is a disappointment. Recently I've started making a little extra cash on freelance writing and they can't even begin to act like they're happy for me, even though they know I've always dreamt of being a writer.

I'm just wondering if I should just stop speaking to them. I love them and I'm crying as I write this, because it would break my heart but I can't keep seeking their approval and continuously falling short. I can't keep being the least favorite child, second to a narcissist.

do you think I should stop talking to them?

i've been having sex with my boyfriend (who is also 15) for months now, always using protection. I promised my mother that I would tell her whenever i started having sex but I obviously didn't and I feel really bad for that. Should I tell her that I am not virgin anymore? don't know if she will tell dad but I really fear his reaction. what should i do?

White women seem more tolerant when it comes to different ethnicities. I just noticed this. Of course not every white male is racist but it seems they are less tolerant to other ethnicities.

I have Schizoid Personality Disorder.

I think what happened was that being chronically rejected in childhood made me suppress all desire for relationships (romantic or otherwise). Communicating with people is physically exhausting.

I feel bad for all the people I've hurt by ignoring them. Should I start admitting to people that I'm Schizoid (and explaining what it is) so they can understand that it's not them, it's me?

I want to do something crazy for my birthday before I get too old to do these things any more. I was thinking of a 'gender swap' dress up theme, where all the girls wear tuxes and the guys have to come in dresses. Is it too extreme? It would be at my house and we could go into town if people want, or just stay in.

Would you go to a party like this?

My brother is 18 and I'm 14, my 16 year old sister and my brother's girlfriend think that it is weird that we're super close. Like he'll wrap his arm around my shoulder and I'll put my head on his shoulder. sometimes he'll just rub the back of my head or my back to make me tired while doing this, but we never spoon and it's never in a bed. Usually in two chairs or in the car. My 16 year old sister says we look like a couple when we do this but I feel like it's normal due to the relationship me and my brother have and I just need some advice... thanks

I'm 15 years old. My mom and dad broke up half a year ago. My mom has done her best to try and be happy. My dad did none of this. He is still grieving it seems. But he has this way of making me feel terrible about everything. After every call I feel that my grades suck my clothes suck and my personality is terrible. Today he called up and complained about money and how mom takes half of his in child support. But he's richer than us. Even so he hasn't tried to make friends, date or take care of his health. When I finally have him a piece of my mind, he got all defensive. So I hung up on him while he was talking about how lucky I was and shitty his life was. Then I blocked his number. Am I terrible for this?

Personally, I've seen what an abusive home and being in and out of foster care does to a child, so I believe that anyone should be able to adopt as long as they can provide a loving and safe environment and are financially stable.

I keep hearing this expression and I don't quite get the meaning. For example, the other day I was the only one to complete an assignment in class and the teacher said to me "well look at you" slowly and ending with a higher pitch... I don't get it, is it a compliment or sarcasm or a subtle I insult? Anyone?

I tend to treat my family members using words like "cariño","cielo", "corazón", "mi vida"... but I'm always unsure to use those words with my friends (especially guys), i really like to use that word "cariño" or "mi vida" which is more like a habit, but Is it ok to address a friend with those words (especially a guy friend)?

i was taking a bath and the door have no locks, she opened the door , she thought i was her sibling taking a bath then she saw me naked and im like wtf. i just dont know what to do in our awkwardness. should i leave the house. she's just a visitor staying for 1 month here. i can't face her anymore. by the way im a girl. she and we're not close she didn't say sorry. and We're Asians by the way

My eldest daughter will be travelling alone this Autumn to another country. My mother will pick her up at the airport. I'm not worried about her because I know she will put in practice everything I've taught her... also, because she has already travelled alone.
I was 5-years-old when I travelled as unaccompanied minor for the first time. My daughter will be 7 this July.
What about you, would you let your (underage) child travel alone?
