  Because it's not a breathable material - and there's no room for your skin to breathe. And then you sweat by just staying in leather for a short amount of time - and then it sticks to you and you can't take it off, nor put it back on if you do take it off...

I did once and got told off by my head of year and my class teacher. They were wet look leather pencil skirt just meeting my knees. I was told that it’s highly inappropriate and not suitable to be worn to school. It was my older sisters skirt and it was the first time I ever wore anything like it.

Yes I've worn something similar, albeit not as tight and not as short. My school had a uniform and on certain days we were allowed to dress up in "casuals".
On the "casual days" every girl dressed her best so I didn't really notice any special attention beyond the normal. Sitting wasn't such an issue!
