I'm looking for answers from people who have grown their hair out from a really short haircut like a pixie, big chop, or neck length bob. If you had long hair all your life, it won't really help me out, but your answers are still appreciated.

My teacher said it depends on genetics. Some people's hair growth time is longer than others. The longer = the longer your hair will grow. At a certain point it stops going though and just start to shed. That's my understanding of what she said I don't know

Sadly, my hair has never been waste length. It can get long but it usually stops at my shoulders or passes a little at my shoulders. So it's always been that length even as a kid, my mom's hair can grow pretty long if she never cut it and was waist length when she was pregnant. I think its genetic thing that determines how long your hair can grow or not. I just recently did another huge big chop cause I wanted to start fresh again and get rid of dead ends.
