Would the world be a better place if makeup didn’t exist or it was banned?

Question

What do you think the world would be like if makeup and all forms of makeup used in the past didn’t exist? Do you think there would be less bullying, less mental health issues, more acceptance or the opposite? How would people express themselves without it? Would we be more honest and open people? Would superficial judgement exist?

If it didn't exist, I think people would be less conscious about how they look. I feel like a lot of girls lack confidence and need make up to boost them but if make up doesn't exist, they'd wouldn't even have the idea of wearing it and everyone one would be in the same boat. Personally, I don't wear makeup because it makes me feel uncomfortable because I'm so used to seeing my face, it feels like I'm pretending to be someone else when I wear it but because practically every girl around me wears makeup, I feel like I should too and it's pressuring in that sense. Basically I think there are more positives than negatives when it comes to makeup not existing anymore

Yes and no, yes because of previous points where everyone would be natural and how they should look, no masks and disguises as makeup changes a face so drastically, and no “Instagram makeup model” related insecurities (it’s everywhere), but I said no overall because I think it’s a good thing to have things in the world that can be abused, for instance makeup where some people use it to mask themselves and portray a fake persona others to bully those who don’t wear it etc, because it makes it easier to avoid the people I don’t want in my life. I love makeup from time to time as well. But there’s no doubt it would be both good and bad

I really think people who judge are everywhere in history, in space. Somehow, I think it is human to watch after other people. The distinction is that "good" people seek for inspiration, "bad" people only judge because "did you see her nose? Omg".
There isn't any fault in make up, the fault is in people that abuse of it because they don't like themselves.
No make up will only change the critical community's radar direction.

I think there would be more unhappy people with no opportunity to make themselves feel better. Unhappiness of appearance mostly comes from within, also unattractive features still exist makeup or no makeup.

No, because those of us who like to modify our looks to something unique would hate it. And don't even get me on the movies special effects and character make-up. The looks of movies and other entertainment would suck.

Makeup has been around forever lol. They made pigmentations and tints out of stuff like berries, leaves, metals, kohl, etc. The trends were just different back then. I think that as long as people find hacks to enhance their best features, they'd practice them. When it's not makeup, it's the cut and shape of clothing, or certain hairstyles, or certain pieces of jewelry, etc. Makeup doesn't cause low self-esteem, although it may enable it in certain situations.

I’m a girl and I would say yes. As much as I love makeup and wear it myself. Not having it anymore would not give anyone the option to look any different from what they actually do. We would live in a world of real looking people and a part of me feels so much peace and relief when I think of that. I like this question.

No, I think that would be silly to make it illegal. Personally things wouldn't be much different for me with or without make-up because I rarely ever use it, and I think I look much better without it. Though I wouldn't be able to use it for my costumes either to make myself look more similar to the characters.
