Dresses are a better option but it would highly depend on how it looks like. What the romans wore or those the crusades wore looked actually pretty good. In some countries in the world, men still wear dresses like in the middle east and it doesn't make them look any less masculine. The moroccan traditional dress for men looks like this and I personally think it looks good;

This is just nonsense. How in the world are dresses a better option when they have to account for the ENITRE body, and not just the lower half? It just makes your point about dresses being a better option for men just ridiculous, because how do skirts make men look less masculine than wearing dresses? It doesn't make any sense, and how they look on men depends on what the skirt actually is. So skirts aren't inherently feminine, and don't automatically you look feminine just because they're associated with women.

Also, the question is asking men if they'd try out wearing these types of skirts show in the OP that *aren't* feminine. Not "should men wear skirts". People should be allowed to whatever what feels right to them, and it's selfish to say otherwise just because you personally don't like the way it looks. Piss off.

Skirts to the mid shin with a bulky look (like what samuris wore,) or heavy material covering the feet (monk style) look very attractive.
