How long did your tattoo peel for?

Got my first weds ( my entire upper thigh,5 hours straight), no pain, no bleeding, barely raised for <3 hours, no ink leakage after the bandage came off (was clean). Never scabed over. This morning I woke up to what looks like a sunburn thin flakey type peel. I know it's normal but how long does it last?

That was the longest most annoying 5 days of my life 😂

Didn't your tattoo artist tell you about the process?
With my tattoos I've always been told they'll heal within 2 weeks but with me it's always been 3-4 weeks. Onced they've scabbed over and then the scab has gone, there's still shiny skin underneath to heal too

He says it would swell, scab, peel etc. all the basics of what "could" happen but so far only had it peel and never said how long lol

It'll scab over the first couple of days then peel for 1/2 weeks. It's quicker than you think

Mine didn't peal at all. I applied aquafore on every few hours to keep it moist so it never peeled

I paid $100 hr for mine. Completely worth it. I did the math in my head (I'm cheap lol), average life span etc. and it averages out to about 4 cents a day for the rest on my life to have it 😂

Tattoos are much more expensive in Australia.

That's because Australia looks awesome so you pay the premium to live there lol for me I'd save a lot of $$$ just in not over spending on my saltwater tanks 😂 here in the US north Texas to be exact, I'm paying $100 a fish easy and over $300 a month maintenance for the big tank alone.

Thats pretty normal. I'd say it will probably last for a week or two. if you have any real concern though feel free to call your artist/shop or just go In, they will be more than happy to answer your questions.

Update;
Don't shave it until it's fully healed. Just apply lotion, I know it's summertime but hopefully it's not a super hairy area for you, and if it is, You just gotta deal. It sucks but that's part of getting a tattoo.

Lol my upper thigh isn't noticeable hairy but I can feel it 😒. I shaved around it as close as I could without touching it which hard considering it's water colors...

Nice ink! It will take a while for it to be completely healed. In the meantime I'd use something like cocoa butter lotion to lightly rub over it. Helps with the scabbing.

I know you wrote it in your question that it's not your picture but I like the tattoo Idea. The leg is not very nice.
Ok for me is it the same. It feels like cat scratches but it lasts 5 - 12 hours and that is the horrible think about it. The first hour is almost boring but after that time it's so annoying for me

Nooo I meant 3 weeks until it's completely healed. The peeling inky lasts about a week or so
