What do you think when you see someone with cystic acne?

That their face must be sore and itchy and probably easily irritated. I never got the horrible acne my brother and my mom did, but I do have sensitive skin and I look at people with cystic acne with nothing but sympathy. You can use every medicine they make and do all the hygiene things right, but some people just have the bad luck of getting the "bad acne" genes.

Because I understand it's no ones fault, I don't let it cloud my view of how lovely and wonderful I think someone is. Even when I was in jr. high and high school I was never so petty as to hold someone's acne or braces on their teeth against them. That just isn't nice.

Is it the most visually appealing thing to look at? No, but neither was the clunky knee brace I wore through half of high school and no one ever made me feel bad because of that, and that WAS my fault.

I have also found that some of the advice at acne. org is very helpful - he has this system that seems to deliver a good amount of medicine without inflaming and making the acne more red and irritated than it is, plus they have discussion boards, so you can get a lot of questions answered.

Doesn't it seem so totally unfair that at the age where you're starting to get excited for relationships and maybe sex your face betrays you? This, to me, is proof that God has a sense of humor.

Damn... that's ass... So I'm just gonna level with you, I can count the number of pimples I've had my entire life on one hand. I love it. So I wouldn't even know that I was looking at Cystic Acne if I saw it.

Yeah I’ve always been lucky too, I only get like one or two pimples (usually around my women time) and that’s it. I’m very lucky. I have a friend that looks like that though and I feel very sorry for her

I feel kinda sad for them because there aren't many people who can see past it and accept them for who they are and also because it looks like it's painful and irritating...

I think it looks painful but lots of things do, that's really the extent of my thoughts considering I have severe eczama

What helps you only steroids or what? *curious*

Steroids only help temporarily because they often thin the skin. Staying very hydrated and a careful diet is the best I can do, it helps a lot doesn't come close to fixing it

No nuts, limited dairy, no oats, limited bread, no fried food, limited red meat

It likely is in the sense that it liekly makes the skin super sensitive. The parallel being with my severe eczama my skin becomes so sentige changes in temperature in a room or the wind from a/c can be painful to the skin
