What's classic beauty about? tiny eyebrows and tiny wrist... bad eyeliner, ridiculous hair. The trends back were not as flexible as they are now. Reading these responses everyone says classic.. but seems like everyone on here is very judgmental... just wants to be "original" or different.
Let's be honest if you took two women one dolled up like in old fashion look and modern day, who do you think people will have a softer eyes for? Not the pencil thin girl with a over sprayed bob... people will laugh, not admire her. They're gonna like the girl with long balayage hair that's got a thick body.
The people says things but their actions do not match up.
Wrong. I dress like the 1940s a lot and so do girls that I know personally. There's a subculture for it and we admire it and enjoy participating in it. Just because you have a dislike for the dolled up classiness of bygone days doesn't mean everyone is lying about their interest in it.
@InTimoreDei my bad I didn't include weirdos sorry but you dont count in my general idea of everyone
Where did you get the idea that pencil thin was trendy back then? Most of these actresses such as Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor (on the first pic) were actually naturally curvy. If anything, standards back then were more flexible because you didn't have to squat at the gym and lift weights like an athlete to be considered good-looking. Or get fillers, liposuction, contouring etc.
by the way balayage is damaging to your hair
I do agree about tiny waists though (back then women used corsets, which are unhealthy)
Yeah these are both very extreme examples. Back then women did not look like that, just a very select few did. And women today don't all have plastic running through their bodies. I prefer today's standards, because back then there was a lot of restrictions on what woman can and cannot wear/do with their hair/makeup. Today is a lot more open, and people get to express themselves.
I prefer a Audrey Hepburn a million times more then a Kardashian
Both and neither at the same time

Classic, but some of the classic beauties were just make up. I don't get the hype about some actresses, they only look pretty because they were full of makeup. Some were beautiful though.
Modern day standards don't even come close to how glamorous the earlier eras were. This trend of using botox is destroying women's faces and makes everyone look the same. A lot of the classic beauties actually had uniqueness to them.
One of my favourites from the 1940's, Gene Tierney
Celebrities today don't even come close to how beautiful and classy as she was. The only one that I can think of is Anna Kendrick.
i think that the "modern beauty" is not necessarily the perception or even the standard for all. i think even the past standard of beauty is not a one size fits all sort of thing.
i just don't really feel like we can measure the most famous movie stars of yesteryear and call that the "standard" vs a bunch of reality and pornstars and call them the "standard" of beauty.
it seems like a better barometer would be to look at the most famous movie/tv stars of today compared to the past...
all that said just answering your question certainly the women in option A are far more beautiful and sexy than option B
The standards didn't change. It is still diamond face shape, almond shaped eyes and symmetry. If a girl has this features will be considered as beautiful even if she doesn't follow the trends, but if she doesn't have these she won't be considered as beautiful whatever makeup she has.
I don’t understand the adoration that peoples give to the actresses of the golden age of Hollywood. I even saw a video clip about depressed women in the 50’s and the comments were like “women these days were so classy! Omg!”. I understand that actresses before were probably prettier because cosmetic surgery wasn’t very common so they were naturally beautiful, but will we all going to forget that Marylyn Monroe was a fake blonde, that sucked both of the Kennedy’s brothers dicks, before killing herself? Still very glamourous?
Classic beauty was more real. Or at least I see it as having been more genuine and not focusing on one body part like large lips or a big round butt. Also it was a different time and era and the personalities were more refined and classic as well. That also translated into the beauty of those women.
The askers personal attitude is showing with these pictures too much, choosing the best examples from the past and the worst from the present...
You're saying that but plastic surgery gone overboard is the beauty standard of the most popular female celebrities. That's not all modern day beauty has to offer but it is what the top of Hollywood's standard is. 🤷🏻
not an accurate representation of modern day beauty at all. yet MANY have told me i'm the most beautiful girl they've ever seen because I'm natural, don't wear a lot of makeup and still look attractive which is so rare to find these days. i hate the fake duck lipped, orange oompa loompa face trend going on right now.
Don't really know how you can pick modern seeing those pictures, lol, but generally with a less extreme example of modern beauty, old fashioned still rates higher in my book. It was more natural, and people found beauty in their uniqueness. Now it seems that we have accepted a 'herd' version of beauty in society, and people will pay for more and more outlandish surgeries to attain that ideal.
I don’t give a damn about either... both are hideous and ugly. Just give me a girl that cares about impressing me the way I like.. and dressing for me.. fuck the celebrities and all that shit about looking up to them for fashion.. that’s for people that have nothing better to do with there lives then to follow someone that just like to get attention
I love how choose you modern beauty to be 3 women with so much botox done you'll need to get a toxicology report done every time you kiss them and women like Scarlett Johansson, Angelina Jolie, Beyonce, Priyanka Chopra, Emma Watson, Kat Dennings, or Rihanna for example.
Well the beauty standards today are all sexualized based on the ideals of models and the porn industry, and frankly the average person is not like that. Look at any model on IG, it's always huge fake boobs, big ass, minimal clothes, rock hard abs, etc
The only thing i like these days is that females who are bigger/thicker are out there too and you don't have to be size one to go far in the entertainment industry i guess everything everythings else classic is better.
Today’s standard is mixed with politics, now the whole world advertising for ass, gays and lesbians, very good advertising for condomes, I expect in a few years they will invent some thing to close vagina, just to prevent population growth
As they invented HIV in last century
And spread in the regions they want to disappear their population like Africa
classic beauty is timeless so of course I will go with option A.
side note : Kylie Jenner looks so old in the pic below.
Classic beauty of course. Plus the time has changed and beauty doesn't have a face anymore for me, the beauty is an act and it's not a face.
I prefer the older style but it seems many men don’t. If you don’t look overdone then you’re not hot or sexy. I don’t understand it because those women don’t look remotely the same without all the excess
At least in the past they weren't all basically walking lumps of plastic and fish scales that suck dick for a quarter.
That's difficult to say since beauty fashion has had countless of different periods of standards and looks. But I can safely say that the example above on modern beauty is ugly as heck.
I prefer the modern day beauty standards because I'm not a virtue signalling prick.
Women look objectively better these days.
