the problem is not due to the media, but to some people's brain, cause many women want to look like models who, to get that body works with the body, performing a certain kind of life with healthy nutrition, sports, rest, and these girls want to look like their idols without a minimum of sacrifice, then when they see beautiful girls who have become famous for this, they criticize them by saying that they are photoshopped or fake, but it is not always true, there are many models accused of being photoshopped, then if they go on TV, they are the same or better than in photos, just envy. i think the external beauty is just one of qualities that a person can have, and we shouldn't be envy for that, every person has qualities and defects, if a see a male model appreciated by many women, i think "good for him" i don't hate him, why i should? Only stupid peoples hate for these reasons
There is some much fucking drama in this topic... women pressured the society to stop calling them fat to the point where a specific category for plus sized models was created, and the whole "thicc" and "curvy" shit started to make them feel better about yourself. People want to feel confident and that's great but sometimes truth hurts... bottom of the line unless you have a medical condition that prevents you from losing weight then you shouldn't be stuffing your face and sitting on the couch... whether it be for health reasons or aesthetic reasons.99% of people use excuses like "I'm beautiful no matter how I look" or "beauty is on the inside" which are both true but only used as an excuse for being lazy af.
The way women show they're good mates is by displaying their looks. That's how men have chosen their mates since the beginning. It shows good genes and good offspring. Women choose based on power, to feel protected, that's why men are obsessed with being the best. In a way it's peer pressure, society... but because all that stems from our own nature. It baffles me that some of the commenters act like victims from society, or worse, men being the cause of this. You're only victim to your own nature.
It's all of it, Media, Celebrities, and Peer Pressure. But I think Peer Pressure is the biggest Problem!!! Afterall, what do we all see on here, so many asking how do I look? Men telling women they are beautiful or sexy and some saying what they'd like to do wirh them. People are obessed with looks and Body Image it's always been that way and probably will always be like that.
Women on the left look way more beautiful and girl on the right looks disgusting. That girl obviously eats too much, and doesn't have physical activity which is so unhealthy and iresponsible toward herself.99% of people can be in shape if they have any self- disipline. What does that mean just be yourself. Tell that a heroine addict how wants to change. Accept how you are men, thats just you, you have doing drugs since you were young. From the other hand will girls fall in love with guys sleeping on streets which dont have money, dont wash, shave, brush teets and have low social status. We can hide from reality but thats just how this world works. Only your mom and dad will love you unconditionally, for anything else in life you have to earn it.
The reason could also be how they were raised, what parents said etc. i admit i’m obsessed with how my body look, because when i was a teenager, whenever i would gain a couple of pounds my mom told me i have to watch my weight and that i’m starting to get fat
I’ve been obsessed with mine for a long long time. When I was younger my mom always told me I had to always look good and using creams to look younger. Along with that my aunt use to bully me and make me feel bad about eating every single time. Complaining I’m gonna get ugly and why am I eating another plate of food. So after that it just traumatized me for life. But hey if it weren’t for her I wouldn’t be healthy. I try to think of it like that. But I can’t stop obsessing.
As a photographer, you are used to letting the "hidden self" of the person being photographed show through" in your photos. The media, beauty product makers, etc. don't think like that. They don't look for the ANYTHING in people other than their money. They just come up with something that will sell, or at least, look interesting, to the buying public.
becauseee the kardashian’s and jenner’s take over the beauty industry people want to look like them ( not all ) but when we see them we think damn why can’t i look like that , plus instagram is FILLED w bad b*tches! so it can make u a little insecure. especially when u see girls around your age with a banging body it’s crazy
Both women, are beautiful, in their own ways. If I was to choose one, as a model, the softer, sensual one, on the right, would be my choice, as I love the Rubinesque style, and my personal, sensual style, is to put the soft, sensual, model, in front of, or in a harsh, rusted, or concrete place, and show her sensual softness, in a sensual, non-sexual way, with the harsh steel, and concrete, opposite. I prefer film and monochrome, old fashioned as some say!
If you look at pictures of women from the 1950s and earlier almost all of then had as perfect a body as that woman could have. Athletic, toned. Women were getting lots of exercise & not guzzling processed sugar & booze.
I bet people took it for granted that a woman would be fit. Now women have the freedom to dress however they want but they’re under more pressure to look good cause all that freedom made them free to live like pigs... to literally become more like men! Lmao
I think both young men and women were slimmer except the few people who had really bad eating habits or were genetically prone to be heavier. In school we had 3 recesses whether it was hot or snowing (back in the 60s) and pretty much ran off our food. To be honest men did look better slimmer. Not only is a big stomach not attractive it's a health problem.
It wasn't always this way. Now girls feel the need to display themselves They are encouraged to do so by the media, in collaboration with the fashion and make up industry. They are pimping out an entire generation of women.
I blame men for valuing sex too much. They fell into the trap. Now women have fallen with them. Its up to us men to reclaim our dignity so we can grant women the same.
Definitely it’s like you can like the way you look one minute then next minute you see someone on Instagram with a “better look” and you start to doubt yourself all over again
And people wonder why I criticize stupid Instagram so much. It's created a false set of image standards that are impossible to meet. In the process it wrecks girls self esteem like a well oiled machine.
I think that social media gets to everybody at some point but if you know who you are and remember there is no one type of person or beauty then none of it will really matter yes I am young and impressionable but I’m getting older and have to realize you gotta work with what you got and make it what you want
To be fair I too am obsessed with looking as good as I can. I too enjoy attention whoring like I think these women seek at a much greater degree. Yes, I think it is the media but I think endorphins/dopamine generated by attention is addictive. When I go for long run up hills those natural drugs flow much like as with attention. On the other hand, I think that the obese women just gave up and fool themselves into believing they look good.
Every woman on the planet is in competition with all other women. Take a walk with a girl in a mall and watch the women walking toward you. They'll look at the woman with you 1st, then look at the creep she's with if your companion is pretty.
Western society puts a big emphasis on looks. TBF from a capitalist view you can't blame clothes manufacturers, make-up producers, media channels, they have to make a profit, so they will push their wares. Parents need to do more to instill confidence in your body, for boys and girls (men are beginning to get sucked into this vain shallow mind set).
Definitely the media. Also girls hear guys talking about their admiration for women with big breasts and toned flat stomachs etc. I don’t know why these guys say it but they do, and so girls absorb this also.

Because for centuries a woman’s net worth to society was/is entirely based on her beauty.
True, but the change starts with You!😉

Very mature thinking young lady, keep it up!
Thank you 😊
It's a combination of society, exploitation of sexuality, our own personal interests and obsessions, industry, etc.

This applies to all of humanity.

Much worse in Asia.

@mistixs is right... Women are kind of forced to look like the models, when most of the time, it's all photoshopped!
"Why are you surprised you don't look like the girl in the magazine? The girl in the magazine doesn't even look like the girl in the magazine."
it's unattainable
@mistixs It's all a trap... And who's suffering from it? The Ladies! Men, let's LOVE our Girls just the way they were made!
I do love women already 😍
