Why are blue eyes considered attractive?

If I am honest, it's probably historically related to eugenics and colonialism. Blur eyes are extremely common in north Europe, but were not present anywhere else in the world.

So when colonialist conquerers invaded foreign lands, and won, then blue eyes became sought after in those places.

The US is one such place, as is all european colonies -- of which there are many.

Personally, I think Mediterranean and Egyptian eye colors are the best looking. With Silver being the most dramatic and most aesthetic.

Personally I have hazel eyes. I like them, bit I don't know why they are considered a prestigious color like blue eyes. People often write about blue and hazel being the prettiest but again I actually just think it's a holdover of colonialism.

Hard to explain it's just captivating, part of why it's because it's more rare, i would say I really love very pitch dark Black Eyes and fair skin which is arguably more rare even more attractive to me personally, but blue and green eyes which i would put in the same category probably because you see the color/i. e the irises better and in a more defined way because the contrast with the white around the eye is more subtle where brow and other darker irises are more hard to truly locate and dissociate coz the contrast is so great and it looks like a big dark ball in the middle of the white... I don't know just my opinion

Blue is the world's favourite colour, by both men and women, globally.
If you reject blue eyes, could be a racial thing or associating it with other features you don't like. All eye colours are nice, but brown is the most common, and all creatures tend to like, or at least appreciate rarer things. Also, all lighter eyes tend to look more lively, as you can see more detail in them.

It is not the color of the eyes to me, first it's the shape, how it compliments the rest of the face and then the color. I do prefer blue in general, but the color isn't everything

If a blonde has blue eyes, it's not that special for me. But if I see a Brunette with bright blue eyes, it just presents a fucking stunning look. One that a guy would feel proud of strutting around town with!
Maybe it's just me, but blue (or green) eyes are a must-have!!!

Beats me. The only difference between eye colors is the amount of melanin in the iris. If you really want blue eyes you can get it done in some countries via the Stroma laser.

Because blue eyes are very rare, and look kinda exotic. However, green and grey eyes are even more rare, but are usually not that much appreciated.
If you look at closely, the eyes in the question photo are not really blue, they are grey. Lots of people mistake grey eyes for blue, including the one who made the article with that picture, confusing blue and grey color of eyes.

About 16-17% of people have blue eyes, about 12-14% of people have green eyes, while only 3-4% of people have grey eyes.
About 2/3 of people have brown eyes (more than 65%).

I know green eyes are very rare in most western countries, but in Slavic and Celtic countries, green eyes appear more often than in other ethnic groups of Europe.

As a blue eyed person it isn't all it's cracked up to be. Our eyes are more light sensitive since we don't really have pigment, more prone to sun damage, many times we have bad vision and there are quite a few eye diseases especially if one is caucasian with blue eyes. I'm not sure it is the same for people who are non caucasian with blue eyes. Yes that does happen if there was any mixing way back in the day.

They are unusual. And rarities are often considered valuable. Also, they just look good. Blue is psychologically a calming color. Honestly though this is just one of those things that when you apply logic to it, it doesn't work. Blue eyes are just blue eyes. Blue eyes do not appear attractive to me compared to hazel, brown or green eyes. Green is my favourite eye colour. I only like blue if it is ocean blue, not the mix of light blue/grey colour like the girl in the picture has.

tbh blue eyes for me tend to imply that person is going to be "look, I have blue eyes". I actually prefer an eye style I've seen very rarely, which is light blue/light grey middle, with a thin black or dark ring around the edge of the iris (had to check that), so the eye looks a bit like a bow and arrow target
