I've been struggling with acne for the past few months. Those who have had this problem know that it can be a huge pain in the ass. You can go to the dermatologist and use all kinds of expensive products and it would still not go away. I know it could look worse, but it's still pretty bad. Anway, in the begining I used to put on foundation everyday cause I would feel somewhat obligated to do it. But then I said f*** it and I started going out bare faced. Because sometimes I feel that foundation makes it look even worse. Or sometimes I just feel the need to let my skin breathe. I catch people staring sometimes and I suppose it's because of my acne but I got over it.I've had people ask me why I don't put on foundation or why I don't do anything about my acne. Those are really rude and ignorant comments. I mean why would you assume that someone likes having acne and doesn't want to do anything about it? Anyway, sorry for the long ramble. My question is: do you think girls with severe acne should always cover it? Would you think they're negligent if they don't?
Do you think that girls with acne should never go out in public without makeup?
I'm slightly turned off by acne, but I think foundation just makes it worse. It's jarring to talk with someone and notice a few minutes in that their skin isn't really their skin, it's a pleasant-colored layer covering up a few bumps. To be fair, I've only noticed it 2-3 times, so maybe most people pull it off without a hitch.
2 things: 1. I don't see why people want to be sexy all the time. I don't want to arouse most people I know, only when there's a particular person I'm planning to meet, I just try and look decent, not immaculate. I see acne as like a bad hair day. Very common and human. Doesn't make someone unlovable by any means.
2. I think it's better long-term to be honest with yourself and accept that others may have gripes. I don't know about you, but I have some local friends who never stop telling me what to do to look better or how I should act. 1 out of 5 times they give helpful advice, the rest is just enjoying telling others their opinion.
Acne tips: I had notable acne from high school to earlier this year. I never covered it up with makeup, and, if I had worn foundation, I would have been mocked like crazy by my "friend group." The only options I had were to deal with it or try to fix it. I tried to fix it and failed, for a good while. Eventually, I got into gentle exfoliation (1-2 times per week) followed with moisturizer (just coconut oil) and it has made a huge difference.
I recommend asking a dermatologist if they can spot a particular cause for ya, but here's the troubleshooting checklist I tried: 1. Washing face (not too little, but also not too much or it'll remove natural oils (makes the skin dry).) 2. Keeping well hydrated. 3. Getting enough sleep and sleeping at a consistent time each day. 4. Does stress seem to cause breakouts? 5. Does a particular food seem to cause breakouts? 6. Washing pillowcase and/or sleeping in a cool room, using a breathable pillowcase. 7. Exfoliating with a gentle facial scrub whenever I notice sebum. (My trick is that if scritching in the shower feels good on the skin (like a backscratcher), then there's exfoliation to be done. If it doesn't, then I don't mess with it. 8. Moisturizing dry skin. I'm not sure why, but I think it reduces irritation and that there's some stuff that's gross and oil-based, so it dissolves and washes off when oil is applied. I like pure coconut oil because I figure one ingredient is less fiddly.
I had a crush on girl who had bad acne but i was attracted to her i can't help who i cared for well she chose this other guy over me so i didn't have no option but to move on well in the end the guy she chose over me done her wrong. I had to go on with life and i just stopped communicating with her , it hurt me cause i had lot feelings for her but this guy had sex without her permission and i believe he ended up getting in trouble. Trust me if them are your pictures there is not a thing wrong with them and you are very cute we just got to brace what happens in life , i had acne age 18-20 but doctors couldn't do much. You’re lovely girl. I've had problems in the past. Products never helped me. Nobody asked my opinion but I can guarantee it’ll help a lot of you do what I say and stay 100 percent dedicated for at least 10 days. It’s scientifically founded in biochemistry.
most importantly eat 1-1.5 cups of nuts per day. The good non saturated fat in nuts greatly reduces inflammation. PS- your skin is made of fat.
its the non saturated fat we need. Saturated will always lead to free radical damage and inflammation. So cut out as much saturated fat as possible.
cut out all extra sugar. Sugar and saturated fat must go. Period.
for your meals eat efficient protein in any of the following forms: eggs, fish, seafood, LEAN poultry, LEAN meat. the fat in seafood or fish is good. The fat on meat and poultry is saturated so cut that off and you can still eat the lean meat.
with each meal 3 times a day eat a half a cup of beans: any type you want that’s an actual bean like: pinto, chick pea, kidney, red, black, white. Find a bean you like and learn to cook them and season with something you like like garlic or pepper or something. Green beans do not count. Beans are the richest source of soluble fiber. Soluble fiber throws away excess hormones and takes them form the toilet in the bile. Excess hormones play a large role in acne.
Eat at lots of vegetables.
make your only beverage choice: water.
Oh and you have to keep the time you eat beans and nuts at least 90 minutes apart from each other or some of the fat will get pulled into the bike by the soluble fiber.
so yo be clear, do this: at your 3 meals eat one of the efficient protein so listed, no substituting with powder or other proteins, and eat half a cup of beans at those three meals. Eat as many vegetables as your heart desires. At some point in the day 90 minutes away from any beans, eat 1-1.5 cups of nuts for the nonsaturated fat content. Drink water only as your beverage choice. cut out sugar and saturated fat.
do this for 10 days girlie 100 percent commitment and you’ll be shocked. I promise you. PROMISE
I can attest to the diet discussed here. Pumpkin seeds, I find, are helpful for me anyway (Not like anybody wants to hear my opinion anyway -- I have many people essentially telling me to go f**k myself regularly, so that says a lot!).
Girl my best friend struggled with very severe acne so I understand what you feel, Although truthfully, yours isn’t too bad so i don’t think you should worry much about it. I think foundation makes acne look cakey and it also makes it worse. I would advise you to Let your skin breathe. What really worked for my friend was steaming her face (just fill a bowl with very hot water, out your face over it, and put a towel over your head) this allows for impurities to wash out. Apply Gel from Aloe Vera to face and wash off 30 minutes later. And lastly EXFOLIATE it works wonders if you wash your face with African black soap and use an exfoliating brush to scrub your skin. Wash it off with cold water to tighten your pores and apply moisturizer. Do that every night and morning, it may seem tedious but trust me, my friend got rid of all that acne.
I think you need to let it breathe. I used to have bad acne until I hit my 30s. Then I had about a decade of good skin then up pops Rosacea. It's a really dirty deal. It had to do with hormone fluctuations. I used a topical antibiotics for awhile and then when I started hormone replacement it pretty much went away. It came back a bit when I stopped HRT.
I've been having quite a bit of luck making my skin more clear with raw honey masks and plain yogurt masks.
The raw honey works as a natural antibiotic and it speeds healing. Some hospitals use honey for severe burns.
The plain yogurt has mild lactic acid which helps kill bacteria and clear the pores.
I, also, use raw cabbage, heat it and then either lay the cabbage on the skin or just the juices. With cabbage you have to be really careful because it can irritate the skin and cause skin conditions to worsen. I found that cabbage is good to clear out clogged pores.
I follow up with a coconut oil lotion. Just explore on the internet and find out what works best for you. There are so many natural food items you can use. You just don't want to use something you are allergic too or sensitive to.
The items I use above help smooth out my skin too.
Hey girl. First of all I want to start off by saying you are super cute! Acne does not determine someone’s attractiveness, bone structure does. As for covering the acne I would try to wear makeup as little as possible. When you do wear makeup, it is important to have a barrier between your skin and the makeup. I recommend using an oil, cream, redness corrector (dr jart cicapair is a DREAM product), and primer all before starting foundation. When I do this I don’t break out from my Makeup literally at all. To clear the acne I personally recommend avoiding hot water. It’s irritating to sensitive skins such as ours. Do you use a toner? Biologique recherche lotionp50 is a GODSENT product. If you google it and read reviews you will see what I mean. I have tired a million and one products as I’m super into skincare and want to become an esthetician. I spend half my day reading beauty articles online and researching skincare on top skincare spa websites. I recommend avoiding drugstore products and even skincare from places like Sephora. Most of them are gimmicks. When you wash your face I highly recommend doing a deep cleanse. I go in with an oil based cleanser to remove makeup first. Never use makeup wipes as those are so abrasive. I then go in with my cleanser which is valmont foaming cleanser and really rub it into every crevice of my skin. I spend a solid 60 seconds massing it into my face in delicate motions. Once I cleanse I tone with a cotton pad then go in with my mask of the day. Biologique masks are amazing because you can cocktail them to create the perfect mask based off of what your skin needs for that day. I recommend mask vivant for you. Then once I wash that off I go in with my specific serums and cream. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin since I started using serums.
Do you ever get facials? Those might be worth looking into as well as laser treatments to kill the bacteria on your skin. If you have sensitive skin I would avoid the African black soap thing as it’s extremely harsh. It can work but it is so strong. When I was trying to clear my acne I realized I was doing all the wrong things by using acids and acne spot treatments and all that. What my skin needed was hydration and things geared for sensitivity and reducing it. Once I started doing that my pimples vanished and I rarely breakout now. It’s a common misconception that you need to be super harsh with your skin to clear acne. I think that’s what causes it. Check out rescue spa and Joanna Czech if you have the chance. Read some of what they have to say because I promise it works. Joanna Czech is an esthetician to people like Kim kardashian and rescue spa is a top spa in nyc and philly. They are both carriers of biologique among other lines
I'm not going to lie I don't find acne very pleasing to see and it does make me less interested in that girl but I know fully well it's very often not their own fault and I do have sympathy for those who struggle with it.
I don't think you should cover it, my opinion or any others doesn't matter.
It's going to get better and tips would be to stay away from things like cheese and chocolate, chips etc as those things makes it worse. Clean your face with products against acne and try to be consistent.
I totally feel you on this, i have been struggling with acne since I was a teenager and it really affected my self esteem. I only got it a bit under control last year. What I did is stop using anything on my face completely just moisturizer. Because I think the number of products i used to shuffle with and medication made it worse. So you can try that a bit and then restart using a skincare routine but stick with it for a long time. Anw I find you beautiful really, and if anyone has a problem with the way you groom yourself then they can go F*** themselves.
Fuck what anybody thinks you do what you want to do and you already know if they've got some stupid comment just consider the source. They're obviously ignorant so don't let it in your head. It's probably something that will go away as you get a little older. I raised 4 daughters 2 of them had it for a minute and it went away. One just out grew it the other used that 30 dollar acne stuff and it worked for her. Sorry I can't remember the name of it but it commercial is always on TV. Trust me focus on your inner beauty because your beautiful. I'm 48 years old so I ain't trying to hit on you I'm just speaking the truth

First off screw those people. If you wanna go bare faced then do so if you want to wear tons of make up feel free to if you want to wear a dang Peacock on your head then go for it. Because its your body its your choice its how you like it. And yes foundation doesn't let your face breath and it gets into your pores resulting in more acne. You look great without any make up. Dont feel like you need to hide yourself because other people don't like it. Its none of their business.
Besides would they say that do a dude who had bad acne? Not a chance.

For a guy to say that would be hypocritical af, men don't hide their acne with makeup and expect us to be fine with it lol. Anyways, nah. I don't get much acne anymore, I get small pimples here and there, but as a teen when I had worse acne I never wore foundation or concealer just eye makeup and nowadays when I have barely no acne I wear concealer LOL. I don't know what my logic with that is but yeah. But of course not, acne is normal. It can happen due to genetics and skin conditions in which case it's very hard to treat even with skincare products, water and diet.

Maybe it’s your diet stay away from sugar only drink purified water etc. To help flush out the toxins that could be causing it and somehow they leave the skin I’ve heard and can cause acne. If that doesn’t do the trick your skin looks kinda dry maybe from the soap you use or makeup or whatever it is. Which dry skin can cause acne some how. My guess is the lotion acts as a barrier from dust and smoke and dirt etc. So keep reapplying lotion all through out the day. If that also doesn’t do the trick you could also try when cleansing with soap make sure you use warm/hot water to open pores cleanse with soap circular motion to help get all the dead skin cells or dirt or what you’ll be causing acne. Once you are sure you washed all the soap off and got all the dirt out finish shower with the coldest water possible to close the pores and help keep dirt and everything out. Put thick layers of lotion on use the fan to help dry if you want to also help skin breathe.

No, we shouldn't try to hide what is normal and natural. Its like trying to pretend we dont poo. There are so many expectations to be "perfect" these days. We forget we are just another product of biology. Things like acne are just a normal part or life and it shouldn't make people feel ashamed
I don't really care if a girl has a bit of acne or even a lot to be honest. Doesn't bother me at all , Its normal especially your acne is very little and normal. Wouldn't bother covering your face with make-up :)
I was on acne pills myself cause my acne was real bad looking, that stuff cost a fortune but they actually worked though cleared my back if spots and face quite well. Still get acne in my face from time to time but it's normal.
Hun, don’t worry about what other people think. Do what makes YOU feel better about yourself - whether that be made-up or not. Being bare-faced would probably be a bit better for your skin tho.

Well if that's you then I gotta say you don't need make up at all. Sure your face looks like you were shot with a machine gun, but you're actually very pretty and makeup on acne actually shows way more and it's disgusting. This way no one can say a thing we all get acne at some point and have no right to judge you by it. Also did I mention how pretty you are.

I only wear makeup on special events, that's when I use a bit of high coverage. You don't need makeup daily.
Hell no! I know for a fact makeup actually makes it worse if you have sensitive skin. Id rather cleanse my face, moisturize it and let it go away over time then try and hide it and make it worse in the long run. Pllluuus its deceiving when you meet people especially if you just start dating someone. Theyre gonna see how you look made up and when you wake up next to them you'll look like em entirely different person.

My acne isn't that bad however what i first used on my face was baby soap cuz it's gentle but then nd it might sound crazy but I'm using shampoo nd honestly it's working 4 me... it's not as bad as it used to
Go out without makeup people shouldn't care. Get used to it folks a lot of people suffer from it (some worse than other) but it shouldn't be disgusting and you shouldn't need to hide it to be respected and bit micked in public.
I'm 21 and still have got a little bit of acne and I go out without make up. make up make acne being much worse so there's no point in wearing it. I've been hit on a lot so I doubt guys care much about acne after maybe it depends the amount of it, I don't have a lot personally.
Girls with Acne have a middle finger 🖕.. If people have a problem, Then they deserve it.. Acne are normal part of life.. I might not find that very attractive but, I am not offended if I see a girl even with a bad case of acne in public.. It's okay.. I have had female friends with bad case of acne.. Never bothered me..

Like acne is just acne. judgmental people can take a hike on this one. Do what you can to clear your pores but by no means make it worse! Especially just to appease others.
