Why are people so touchy feely/violent towards men in makeup or just anything considered feminine?

Firstly makeup has no gender restrictions. It really doesn't so why do people feel the need to try to bring those men down when they're in makeup! Like they look GOOD. They look so good and when it's paired with a super cute outfit it's even better. Some of these men are doing it better than the women!! And y'all still wanna talk shit on them!

I follow a lot of men who do makeup on social media and they are always saying how scared they are to go outside sometimes in their femine clothes because they have gotten harassed before. It is their choice to wear makeup and yes you can have opinions about them but stop with the death threats and the beating them up BECAUSE THEY WANNA DO THEIR MAKEUP AND WEAR A DRESS!

There is a deep instinct in all higher animals including humans to categorize things into normal and abnormal.

Environments and situations that are normal do not induce stress in an animal because the normal is predictable and the animal knows how to deal with it and doesn't feel threatened.

However, environments and situations that are abnormal do induce stress in an animal because the abnormal is unpredictable and the animal isn't sure how to deal with it and that feels threatening.

As an example, look at the world right now with the COVID-19 virus. The world is abnormal right now and everyone is unsure what's going to happen. We are nervous and avoid each other because we don't want to risk getting killed. Last year, the world was normal.

And remember this final bit: Animals (including humans) want abnormal to go away and want to bring back normal ASAP and, if they can make that happen, they will. Furthermore, if they can prevent abnormality, they will.


So, how does this apply to make-up on men?

It's an indicator of abnormality to many (straight) men and to many of them, it's an indicator that the male may be a homosexual which, instinctively, is considered abnormal.

And humans hate abnormality.

But, humans like other animals understand instinctively that many abnormalities may be passed to future generations - thus making new abnormal animals later. Many animals, including humans, have an strong instinctive urge to kill abnormal members of their species. It's one way maintaining "survival of the fittest".

I am not kidding about this. I've seen videos of mouse mothers eat their abnormal newborns and a wild horse stallion break the neck of a newborn foal which had problems. For humans, killing is unlawful, so, often, the mother or parents of a baby with problems is often given up for adoption because the parents can't "deal with" the child (and may, deep-down, want to kill it).

This hostility to abnormality is a very old and deep instinct in all of us and, if you look closely, you will see this instinct in use every single day. I even see it in myself. Human intellect can fight it though. For instance, I have a revulsion of homosexuality too, but my intellect enables me to understand its cause and not feel threatened by it. Thus, I can have homosexual friends and relatives and can control my killing or abandonment instinct.

Anyway, to answer your question, extensive make-up on a man triggers that sense of abnormality in observers of that men and abnormality triggers the hostility-toward-abnormality instinct.

well i dont got a grudge against them i just dont find myself comfortable with this, its just something i can't explain, my brain is wired to believe that men dont need and shouldn't use makeup so when i see them using it, it makes me uncomfortable and disturbed but personally i dont feel like beating the shit out of these people, more of a do you and i do me kinda thing.

I agree. I don't see what the big deal is about men wearing makeup and people freak out at these men for wearing makeup but they don't bat an eyelash when it comes to male actors wearing makeup. Obviously these men wear a lot more but why is it okay for male actors to wear makeup for touch ups or for roles but it's not okay for men to wear this type of makeup

It's impressive beyond all else. I can hardly handle my own makeup half the time... These are guys that are told they "shouldn't know" and they still are way better than me.

As a girl I actually find men wearing makeup pretty attractive. I do like "manly" men too but I really have a preference for soft, cute guys who can rock a cute outfit and wing their eyeliner better than me (which isn't really hard I suck at it).
