There’s something that I don’t really get about men, like many of them don’t like redheads and consider them in the bottom of the barell, but when an attractive brunette or an attractive blonde dye her hair red, many of them say it suits her well. I always hear that redheads are less approached by men, but I noticed that if a hot redhead like in the picture I posted enter a room, she get noticed more than a blonde or a brunette. A guy once told me that many men think that a redhead is considered either ugly, either extremely hot. Which is kind of true cause many redheads I know are either extremely popular or either extremely ignored.
Will a man choose a redhead with a better looking face over a blonde or a brunette with a slightly less attractive face?
Is red hair considered a plus if the woman has a pretty face and a hot body?

But I digress, I LOVE/LUST AFTER/CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF redheads. It took me decades to figure out that the Co-captain of my high school's cheerleading squad really wasn't even that pretty (she had a kind of large nose and her face was buried in freckles) it didn't matter; as far as I was concerned she was one of the most beautiful girls in the whole school because she had long, beautiful red hair!
I hope other guys don't care that much for redheads because that leaves more for me!
That said, I expect your boyfriend's right, red hair is something that guys are either indifferent to or, like me, can't get enough of.
Now hair dyed those unnatural shades of red are usually a turn-off. I notice women who have dyed their hair that color red because the eye is just naturally drawn to red. I'm sure the anthropologists can give us a good Darwinian reason why, but I don't care for it.
I wouldn't say red hair is necessarily a plus, or a minus, just neutral. Though, my favorite hair color is brown, so if there were three identical girls, one with brown hair, one with blonde, and one with red, I'd choose the one with brown hair. And if it were between only blonde and red, I'd choose the one with blonde hair. However, if my options aren't identical, I'm going to choose the one with the most attractive face and body, and best personality, regardless of her hair color.
Also, I would be inclined to agree that redheads stand out the most in a crowd, simply because they are the least common. However stands out =/= exceptionally attractive or unattractive.

Listen to how dumb this sounds. Judging someone on hair colour seriously? It's basically just the same as being racist about someone's skin colour - discrimination for the sake of it because it's no longer socially acceptable to be racist these days - unintelligent thickos will find any reason to pick on minorities.
"Judging someone on hair color seriously?" and yet humans all over the world judge each other based on the way they look every single day. hair color, eye color, skin color, butt size, body shape, face, etc. and not just to judge someone negatively, but also to judge whether they find someone physically attractive. You think someone looks hot or sexy? Well, guess what. You're judging them as well. We all do it whether we realize it or not. The main point being that we do not discriminate negatively against others based on such things. Treat them equally as a person.
@Fulbau good points but some people seem to feel the need to point out negativity rather than keep it to themselves also there is no such thing as all people with a certain physical feature are good or bad, for instance not every blonde girl is hot or every muscular guy hot - attractiveness is subtle and nuanced - the girl asking the question seems to be quite basic suggesting that hair colour = good or bad when it's just not that simple
There are genetic and social attributes that come with hair and skin color. While this doesn't apply to all of humanity, its a decent starting point to gauge personality.

Lmao. Dude. Red reds come from a certain area of the planet. Specific areas developed certain societal traits that are written into their DNA. Those traits are expressed as attitudes. Again, doesn't apply to all, but discounting it doesn't make it less true. All Ron is saying, is that "snowflakes" prevent us from using our natural tools for survival. I know that most red heads aren't a good fit for me bc of their displayed genetic attritubes fine tuned for their survival. Natural redheads generally have certain facial features that don't really appeal to me. And that's fine because everyone has their own preferences. It's not like I'm crying over the fact that not everyone finds me attractive. You'll always have people that find you attractive and those who don't.
It's not generally the hair colour that attracts people, but more so the facial features and body and style of hair, although there are some colours that suit people more so than others, an attractive person will always be deemed attractive regardless of the colour of their hair.
I dated a redhead and as grumpy as she was most the time, during the relationship I loved every minute of being with her tbh, but i dont hate redheads, I would love to be able to date another natural ginger/redhead tbh I also noticed many natural gingers often hate their own hair colour and a lot of the negatives about ginger's/redhead's can be summed up by
1) jealousy of other's about their hair colour, as they crave it themselves 2) the attitude of some ginger's/redhead's who can be quite feisty... 3) those who were rejected by a ginger/redhead... or can't accept them being so sought after
Weird, I noticed redheads tend to be the most stuck up about their hair color thinking everyone wants to be them and make it their entire personality. If they really wanted to, they could dye their hair. But they don't want to because they know it makes them special. Whenever I heard a redhead throw a pity party like that is was 100% them fishing for compliments.
I consider it neither a plus nor negative. I'm more interested in hair length and volume, than hair colour. As long as she's got a pretty face and hot body, that's all that truly matters. I think, overall, men are far more forgiving of hair colour than women. Its more so women who despise redheads. How many times have you seen a woman call a red-head guy hot or who, when describing her ideal guy, list reddish hair as their ideal? Practically never. It's always the stereotypical tall, dark, and handsome. Guys are less choosey about these sorts of things.
Well I can't speak for other guys, and definitely not for other women, but in my experience, redheads are very beautiful. They're not usually ignored because they're any less attractive, but because of personal preference. Different people are attracted to different things, different body types, different hair colors, different eye color, and pretty much anything you can think of that could be visually attractive, and depending on the person, it can differ. It's not that redheads are liked any less, or that there are any less guys that are attracted to redheads, but that the redhead in question just hasn't met the right person yet.
It’s probably not that guys opinions switch, you are probably just looking at the opinions of different guys. Some guys think redhead are hot, some guys think they’re not, others don’t really care one way or the other. Hair color is also not the only thing in the world, so if they loose a few points for being a red head but make up more points in other ways then they might come out ahead.

Redheads are widely liked. I definitely like redheads.

Guys who like redheads, really like redheads and there's no shortage of guys like that. There are way more guys who like redheads than girls who are redheads, so in relative terms redheads are disproportionately liked.
Every single study and poll that has ever been done on planet earth has found they are considered the least attractive and approached by men at bars much, much less than other hair colors. One poll, men rated women with buzz cuts and grey hair as more attractive.
For me it's always body shape first in terms of attractiveness. Now other things can dial that up or down or make me more likely to notice to begin with, but the shape is what matters the most.
Best example I can think of is breast size. If a girl has perfectly shaped breasts, then adding 3 cups sizes to them will probably take her from "nice!" to "HOLY CRAP! that HOT!" Similarly, if she has terribly shaped breasts, adding 2 cup sizes will usually take her from "no thanks" to "Oh wow--THAT'S unfortunate!"
With hair color I think it's just that you notice the person with different hair color first (or at least earlier). If the redhead happens to have ScarJo's body the result is "HOT!" If she looks like a linebacker, not so much.
I LOVE natural red heads, freckles are a plus, and the skin tone. I just like the uniqueness. I always hit on red heads, blondes, and all the rest.
I'm a nerd and because genetics is fun, I think hmm... I wonder how our ginger babies might look like. I have olive skin tone and hazel eyes, so ya never know. I'm attracted to my genetic opposite.
If we're just basing it on looks, then yes I choose red head. But more than looks, personality is a big factor.
Hard call , I am not sure how much hair colour plays into it, the guy just thinks she is hot or not, his preference for hair colour is predetermined meaning it was probably a factor in the hotness decision rather than using it as a dealbreaker between two hot girls.
It's less common so perhaps it seems more exotic. I don't find redheads to be any more or less attractive just more novel due to their scarcity. Less than 2% worldwide. Now Scotland has the most redheads in the world but even Miss Scotland is a blonde.
I don't understand the hate either. I've had a thing for redheads (especially natural redheads) for as long as I can remember. It's so unique, unlike any other hair color - as opposed to black-dark brown & light brown-blonde. My absolute favorite hair color on a woman is strawberry blonde - it looks fiery, like sun-lit gold. A pretty face & hot body are great regardless of hair color. But, with a redhead - Damn!
It depends entirely on the guy. Each guy is an individual with individual preferences. Personally, if I had to choose between two equally beautiful women, one with red hair and one with blonde, I'd go with blonde. That's just my preference. However, I don't associate red hair with ugly and don't personally know anyone who does.

Redheads are always at the top of my preferred list. But one has to know how to handle them.. With a natural Redhead, the red Hair is usually there as a warning for fiery hot temper, but that also translates into fiery hot in other areas including sexually as well.
My late wife as a natural red head , green eyes and yes her eyebrows and bush were red. My wife and I would always look at red heads and could always tell between a dye job and natural red hair A natural red is very rare more so than blond , that rareness makes them stand out more and the more rare something is the more desirable it becomes. But as we all know that some people dislike red heads but that is their take in it.
Red hair is, in and of itself, attractive. It probably adds as much as symmetry, or high cheek bones, or full lips to a girl's attractiveness. That is probably what gives rise to the idea of the "ginger minger" - an otherwise plain girl made attractive by her hair.

now to the question yes it's true redheads sometimes look like trash but it's not about the hair, it's about the face. I wouldn't touch that but I also would try to hide my urge to "demolish" a good looking ginger if one gets close

Sure they can be. Western Europeans are some of the rarest and most desirable in the world aren't they. I mean by a lot of people anyways. Don't listen to the haters because they want you to hate yourself. There's tons of people who would like you just for being you etc. And no need to try and change.
I find this topic slightly amusing because I had argument to it but my cousin growing up over this. As we are both older to no surprise our views haven't changed I still love redheads while he finds them all to be unattractive to him. All men have their preferences and their limits.
So hypothetically speaking, let's say there's four identical women with blonde, black, brown, and red hair respectively. To me, none of them would have an inherent advantage based on color alone; style is more important.

Red heads have a reputation as being hot in bed and science has detected higher testosterone (leading to more aggressive sex drive) in ginger females. Besides, I love to play Moses and speak to the Burning Bush!!

A true redhead looks glorious, a fake one not so much. Then again, I have the same opinion of fake blondes and brunettes. I may be a smidge biassed towards redheads (I had my own fair share of red before it went white) but hair colour and skin tone more often than not go hand in hand. If they work together? Great. If not? Less so. The fair skin and glorious plumage many redheads have? Love it!
No, not really. Yeah, you'd stand out as it's a pretty uncommon hair colour, but I wouldn't say it's an added bonus as though red hair looks better than brown or blonde.

I love natural redheads but am not a fan of heavy freckles. So that limits the attractiveness of some redheads in my eyes. All in all I'd take a natural redhead over a blonde or burnette any day of the week.

When the guy says they are either extremely hot or the opposite, I agree with it. It depends. I am more attractive to a redhead who is badass rather than a redhead who is lazy. That's why I prefer redheads like the girl from jumanji and black widow. Red is an aggressive colour and if a woman doesn't have an aggressive personality and has red hair I'm not into it. The opposite however, I'd drool.
