Thanks to all who participated in this little social experiment. It seems most people are savvy enough to recognize the dishonesty and hypocrisy society displays about this subject, but unfortunately that means most people are just defensive and deflective about it rather than being open and honest about it.

I awarded MHO to a user who was more honest than most, and therefore a great example of the hypocrisy, sexism and utter lack of logic behind the views most people have on this subject.

If you want to wear a dress, wear a tunic, monk robe, or toga. There are clothing styles that fit men and women, there are even unisex dresses as listed before. Most male clothing is unisex and doesn't emphasis features like female clothing. Also, the bra serves most women a purpose, but not men. The only male centric clothing I could think of that would just be weird on a female would be a codpiece (though out of fashion). I don't prefer women in suits, but most can't hide the features and there are even women suits.

It's one of many social double standards. Nothing new. In this case one reason for it is because there's in fact many men who do like the look of women wearing men's clothes, while there's nearly zero women who find it attractive when a man wears dresses and stockings and women's panties etc.

For example they make horse riding wear that is jodhpurs, belt, and boots for girls and women, but the jods are tighter fitting and the belts are wider.

For that reason I feel lucky to be a girl in this period in time.
In the past it was unacceptable for a girl to wear tight jodhpurs and a belt and tall boots, for example, so I get it.

Men are just as masculine no matter what kind of clothes they wear. Dresses, skirts, bras, whatever. To say men can't wear women's clothes is just wrong and plain sexist, and shallow. big part of why women started wearing things like pants and suits. was due to women joining the work force. in more job fields where skirts and dresses. are not the optimal choice for a work uniform. however there is more to it then that.
