Opinion on Emo? Were any of you going through emo phase?

What is meant by Emo culture? What is your idea and opinion?

Personally I feel like although emo is often related to people who outrageously color their hair and have very dark clothes and piercings.
But I feel that it's much more about the music than about the appearance because a person can dress in colors apart from black and have very low profile hairstyles and looks but can still be emo on the inside due to their musical choices.

Alright, so...
I am an absolute fan of EMO. I was never emo myself, and I doubt I'll ever be, but I did enjoy emo music quite a bit, and still do today. Fashion-wise, I also love emo fashion. Especially the haircuts, man do I love them.

I did have two emo girlfriends in my lifetime, one which was the kindest girl ever, I was fortunate enough she wasn't one of those emo ''kids'' that constantly talked how depressing life is and harmed themselves. She was the best. Unfortunately we broke up after she moved states. I dated other emo girl more recently, and while she wasn't into harming herself either, she wasn't really my type of person so we broke up really soon.

During those days of Paramore, All Time Low, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday etc etc I was actively listening to all of those bands, but never dress like emo or colored my hair or styled it in emo-way. I was always more of a metalhead.

All in all, I am an absolute fan of emo culture and fashion, and feel kinda sad as there are very few people still embracing the look today. The music lives on, but fashion slowly dies.

That chick is smoking hot. The question is when does the emo phase end, and when does it start getting weird. It's hard to imagine that woman in a business setting, but I also haven't met any emo's with that kind of ambitions anyway... Anyway, a girl like that is 10/10 for me.

I get call goth and scary a lot. i mean a lot. My boyfriend told me he was really scared at first because i look like the type that has bodies in her back yard all while looking like a scorn little adult girl who lost her teddy bear and has never gotten over it.

but im rather somber and talk about death like it just another sunny day. and people call me the most depressing person they ever met sometimes.

since i dont smile and i tell the truth... all the time probably toooo much. I'm a strong believer that once we find truth happiness no longer really exist and it just hard to find.

i dont even have to wear all my millions of black outfits. people just find me sadden to be around.

dark souls do not need a hair color. pain and just depression itself is invisible there no need for the extra.

I However do wear my contempt/what evens/sadness for mankind daily. it very hard to leave at home seeing as i never can take it off -_-

In appearance, I didn't go through an emo phase. Never died my hair, never cut my hair in a certain way or dressed a certain way.

Mentally and musically, I did, in my early teens. I would have a lot of social anxiety an be depressed. I would draw very dark stuff, and I would listen music that has been labeled as emo.

I went through goth, emo, and punk phase. I loved wearing purple and black lipstick. Shaving my head and dyeing it different colors. Cool rock band T-shirts and studded jewelry and belts. I was obsessed with the fuse channel before it got lame.

YESSS, emo is not about your style but your music! This applies to goth, and punk. Though the people who listen to those genres are usually apart of a subculture like cyberpunk or scene

It was very much a thing roughly 15 years ago. I don't see much of it these days. My first gig was an emo band but I was stuck on my grunge phase.
