Not really hand me downs. Cause most of the hand me downs came from my fat teenage cousins. That were not good on my sisters and I, which we were kids. That my mother, especially my father. Found it offensive of their children wearing hand me downs. That they thought/felt of not being good parents of providing for their children.
So my dad bought us clothes at the mall, that having sisters. We were always fighting over the clothes on school days. Lol
Yeah I had 4 sisters so feel you there 🤣
I am quite small compared to the rest of my family, so I’ve been wearing my younger cousins and even my nieces hand me downs for most of my life. I can still wear a 10-12 in kids shirts and shorts (not jeans, my legs are too long) and I wear a 2.5-3.5 in kids shoes, so I’ve been cursed with hand me downs. Sometimes it wasn’t so bad- my cousin who’s 3 years younger than me has nice tastes.
Well that's good 👍
yeah but every kid did back then, there was none of this gap kids culture we see today where going out to play is also now a fashion parade. no one gave a shit about trainers ;)
That's good
My mom got me clothes from the garage sale and they were in such nice condition, that I did not even notice the difference
Yeah I never had problem with that... I thrift shopped as well as new for my kids and myself... Only reason didn't like have me downs as a kid was cuz the school I went to they made fun of you for wearing hand me downs
Eh I don't dress for what society dictates is fashionable, I go by what I personally like, feel comfortable in and firs me... The clothes don't make the person the person makes the clothes 🙂

I always got soooo excited when my older cousins would give me their old clothes. I didn't have a lot of clothes and they always had cute things so it worked out. Now that we're both older, my sister and I will run our old clothes by each other before throwing it in the give-away pile. It's always nice to get new clothes ;p
That's true 🙂
Yes, I did. I got embarrassed about it once I got into middle school but my parents were busting their asses to make ends meet so I didn't complain. A lot of the other military kids wore hand me downs too. My mom thought it was more important for us to be able to play sports than to have brand new clothes.
My daughter wears hand me downs too. She doesn't care (yet).
I know.. And yeah younger wore some but not all
I did and I hated it. I had two older sisters that handed down quite a bit. That would have been fine, except I started getting chubby so they started getting tight. It got worse and worse as time went by. Eventually I could not wear their jeans or anything because those were too small, so I had to wear hoodies and sweatpants and things like that.
Yeah that's the biggest problem, that they don't always fit the same from one to the next person, not to mention the starting to look worn out, although you want that look in jeans... But not shirts, sweaters, dresses, coats
Sweaters and coats were okay. Skirts eventually became a no go because the waistbands were smaller and my belly hung over, which was not good.
Always, i hated it, then i began my career at the age of 21 and bought new clothes to wear, but then i got married and had 2 beautiful kids and that put me back to hand me downs. The story of my life... lol!😉😊
Right lol
Lmao nope.
I have one brother and he is 11 so as you can understand I never wore any of his clothes 😂
But I did (and still do some times lol) steal some of my mom's shirts cause we are about the same size
One I started buying own clothes at 13 2 of my sisters used to borrow mine without permission
No. Im the first born child and first girl of all my cousins. My sister got all my old clothes though. I didn't think anything of her wearing them and I don't think she did either.
That's cool 👍😎
I am the youngest of 6 but I did not wear my 3 older sisters hand me downs so my mom made me or bought me second hand clothes ! she did buy me new clothes when I found some I liked ! thanks
Cool 😎
I have six siblings.. I’m the last born...😂 so I had a lot of hand me downs. I actually really liked them because my older siblings had some cool stuff.
Oh you got it worse lol not by much I was 4th out of 5 girls... And lucky it was cool stuff... But I grew up in 70's 80:s...70's clothes want much cool kids clothes or so I thought 🤣ZI had cool stuff once got 13 and babysat and bought own clothes
I aas the oldest so no. Plus my sis and i were 6 years apart so it was a bit too late by then lol. The only thing i passed down to her was my adorable little toddler swimsuits
Lucky you lol I was the 4th of 5 girls so yeah 🙄
When my sis and i got older then i started wearing all of her clothes because i lost my baby fat haha. So i was tryna wear skintight stuff and what better place to go then your younger sisters closet 😂🤣 we also shared clothes with our mom. Its funny cause i’d wear their stuff but hated them wearing my stuff. Now im outta shape again so had to buy a whole nee wardrobe lol
Funny cuz I hated having to wear my sisters have me downs, but when started buying my own at 13, my sisters kept trying to wear mine 🙄🙄
As long as theyre in good condition, i dont consider them hand me downs. But u grew uo watchin Little House on the Prairie, Full House, and the Cosby show. I was expectin hand me downs lmao
🤣🤣🤣
Yes i had an older sister that i got her hand me downs lol.. it wasn't fair but it really didn't bother me... but she always got the new clothes... lol
I was the 4th youngest of 5 girls so yeah lol
I started buying my own at 13, with money made babysitting
Right lol the next door neighbors were ready to split up, so she'd pay me$20 the hubby would come home, find she went out and he'd pay me$20 and then he'd go out... I made good money till the divorce was final 😅
Right lol well maybe not lol I don't have the energy to be chasing after little kids... My grandson being the exception 🥰🥰🥰 he's so well behaved and no that's not bias 🤣🤣
I agree, hope can you have/raise kids when you still a kid... My daughter was 21 when had hers... I was 24 and 26 when had mine, then got my remaining tube (one had to be removed) cut and burned...
Luckily no, I have 4 brothers before me so I got all new clothes cause I was a girl. My brothers definitely always shared clothes tho
Ha lucky you lol it really wouldn't a bothered me but we went to a smaller"supposedly" Christian school and kids made fun of you for wearing hand me downs... But I babysat and bought my own from 13 on till first 'job"job at 15
lol great memes there Toots. Thankfully, I think, I didn't get all that much as my older brother was a lot older... so maybe it was some t shirt type stuff but not much more :)
That's cool 😎
Yes im the youngest in my family so i got everyone's handy downs, hated it so much. I've always been into my fashion so imagine how i felt having to wear out season raggy old clothes
Yeah that would suck.. For me personally it wasn't that I would of minded, but we went to a smaller private school, and you got made fun of for wearing hand me downs
I don't think they would be called hand me downs because I was the only child, but most of my belongings did come from thrift stores, if that counts.
I still thrift shop... Or used to anyways...
My mom tried to as a kid because I have an older sister but she wears a way bigger size than me because I was always really small
Well that worked then 🙂
I had to wear my uncles 1960s peace shirts and my some ugly flag bell bottoms.
Yeah, loud baggy and ugly I got it.
Maybe thats why I crossdress today. They drove me to it
Omg bell bottoms 😱 maybe that's why I only wear pants fitted to ankles and back then used to safety pin them that way 🤣
I looked like a excapey from Woodstock. I even some of it was girls clothes from my that was my cousin. She was just a little older then me
Omg the visual I'm picturing lol thanks for all the laughs today... Is that why the yo momma jokes 🤔 she made you wear hand me downs lmao jk🙂
Kids at grammar school were even nastier than thou art
Who me? I'm innocent angel.. Ok maybe that slight exaggeration lol
I did, and also clothes from jumble sales 😐
I just got on with it. I think it’s encouraged me to buy less new stuff and more pre-owner...
Yeah maybe that's why I'm so thrifty (cheap 🤣) never thought about it.. Thanks 🙂
I was the oldest boy, so no hand-me-downs for me aside from a few t-shirts maybe. My brother on the other hand got all of mine.
Ha lucky you
Nope, there were times where I borrowed from my older sister's closer but that was a personal choice. The rest was new.
That's cool 😎
Yes but not much really. It didn't bother me at all. Most clothes were worn out before they were hand me downs anyway... LOL
Yeah boys are harder on their clothes than girls are
Oh yeah. I didn't think of that.
I was the youngest i have worn my dads tees, shirts, moms clothes and brothers teeshirts, also i uses to have plenty of clothes on my own, in total i jad so many clothes i used to love the variety and fashion that it never bothered me
That's cool 😎
I did for some clothes but I didn’t care at all. Clothes are only material items.
Oh I agree, when I was younger wouldn't a cared but kids at the school I went to made fun of you for wearing hand me downs..
No, my sister has always been bigger than me so they wouldn't even come close to fitting
Ahh okay 🙂
My mom would make me dresses out of my older brothers t shirts when I was 2 or three, and I got a lot of clothes from him growing up.
Did you like that or no?
It wasn’t bad🤷🏻♀️
That's good... Your mom must be a good sewer
So am I
That's good... I'm not that great 🙁 lol I once hemmed my curtains and Layed them on bed to hem, and when lifted the curtain, the comforter came with, 🤣🤣 yes don't me sewed right through the curtain and comforter and seed together 🤣🤣
Duddeee you should have used a wood floor or something hard.
Blonde moment 🤷🏼♀️🤣 was easy fix... Was kinda funny 🤣 but yeah after that didn't sew as much 🙂
I only have one sibling, a younger sister. So no hand me downs for me.
Otherwise you'd a been wearing dresses 🤣
I'm an only child so I didn't but I none the less I was a dweeb and looked the part lol.
Lol but not anymore right 🙂
Lol no. I'm not a very fashionable person but I'm not a dweeb. Though I do still like geeky shit.
Nothing wrong with that 🙂
I did, but I didn't mind it so much. I only didn't like those clothes if they were out of style. (You actually care about looking cool when you're a kid, because at that stage it really matters.)
I still wouldn't a cared but we went to a smaller private school so kids would know and make fun of you for wearing hand me downs
Yes I most certainly did.. I didn't care. I was a kid and unless you are getting teased because they saw your brother wearing what you had in 2 months prior. I thought I looked cool
Yeah but we went to a smaller school, so yeah did know and did get teased... But maybe that's why got think skin now 💪💪🙂
*thick
Uhh oh old man saying alert 🤣🤣 it's okay I seem to be saying that a lot these days too... Omg, when you become THAT OLD person 😱..."back in my day"...🤣🤣
Sometimes I did wear some shirts of my dad's and borrowed his suit couple of times, but nothing more.
When you're older think it's different... I wouldn't a cared as a kid, but the school I went to they made fun of you for that
That's cool then 😎
no. perks of being the oldest kid xD i only got "hand me downs" i form of computer hardware from my dad ^^
Lucky you, I was 4th youngest of 5🙄
XD well at least you weren't the last in the pecking order
No but pretty damn close lmao
Nah. Oldest sibling gang. Though I wouldn't have had to even if I wasn't the oldest, because my family could afford to buy new clothes for each of my brothers.
No I didn’t, my grandmother spoilt me and bought me the prettiest clothes. She still does 😂❤️
Aww lucky you... I was the 4th of 5 girls, don't think got any new new clothes that weren't a gift from relatives until started babysitting and buying my own clothes at 13
Yes I had all kinds of hand me downs as a kid. Some were great others not so much.
Right same lol
I didn't, but donations were always welcomed !! LOL
Lol did you get any donations 🙂🙂
I believe so, but not from family.
I had two sister's growing up with no brother's. So that would be no in wearing hand me down's.
Lucky you... I was the 4th of 5 girls... So yeah lots of hand me downs till started buying my own clothes at 13
Luckily I had a sis no even if they wanted to hand me down it would had been funny
Aww but you'd look so purty in a dress 🤣🤣🤣
Oh trust me i would have been prity girl while in 1st grade I wore her dress by myself then then put lipstick and Bindi tiny sticker on head
Then they*
🤣🤣
I didn't as a kid as no older brothers etc. I wouldn't have liked it as a kid. as an adult I am happy to buy clothes from charity shops
Oh yeah same... Well not the older sibling part lol the thrift stores... I got a $250 dollar full length leather jacket once for $1.49 eventually gave to neighbor and she still wears it
wow that is a bargain. I'm still waiting for a crazy bargain. I mainly go in hope I find a cheap guitar or boxed nintendo. never have :(
how kind giving to your neighbour
Had a guitar gave to my husband's best friend when he passed.. Have an old Nintendo but not boxed. And coat got too big for me so gave to her
You're really cool. why can't you live over here lol
Lol where's over here? But thanks 🙂
England. saying that maybe you not in the states. don't actually know.
You were correct.. In the US
Yeah we prob chatted about that before or I knew thatthat there was a big time difference.
I had to because I was the youngest , not too bad other than when I inherited the Rainbow pants, which could get you killed today.
🤣🤣 right... That's ok one time did get "new" shoes they were green with orange shoe laces and read with yellow laces 😱
*red
I only got hand me downs from my sister for a few years, because I grew faster than her, and I got some from my mom, too, because at one point for a few months, we were all the same size.
You didn't mind wearing girls or women's clothes?
Actually, my parents usually bought her male clothes, because they were cheaper and were built to last longer.
Oh ok
I was the lucky one. I grew too fast to get hand me downs and my mom wouldn't let wear them.
Yeah lucky you
Once i have kids i plan on not letting any of me kids have hand me downs.
Okay... Yeah don't hand me down the elephant trunks 🤣🤣🤣
That's cause you already took them 😛
Hahahaha for what? Not like I could wear em for fill em out... So for what? A souvenir 🤣🤣🤣
You like wearing my shorts. 😎
"He wears short shorts he wears elephant shorts "🤣🤣
Yep you know me. *twerk, twerk* twerking that ass. 😎
🤣🤣🤣 omg roflmfao you go 'C" it your birthday...
https://youtu.be/zLbZo0qaY78
I love this!! 😂😂
Were you in that video 🤔 tried finding one where dude was twerking in elephant trunks 🤣🤣 guess you'll have to make that video 🤣🤣
My whole life story are hand me downs lol. I save a lot of money on clothes. Where is the bad? lol
If in good shape, nothing... But if went through 2-3 people for got to you, can start to look too worn.. Oh trust me, I know how to shop and look good without spending a lot
I'm an only child so nope. This has never happened with me.
Lucky you 😝😝 lol
Yeah well, kids can be cruel.. So if you go to school and all kids know you wearing your siblings hand me downs 🙄
Specially in a private or"Christian" school... That's where I learned all the contradictions of religion from
All my life and I didn't mind hand me downs nor did I care what other people thought at all... still don't
That's good
I'm the oldest of 4 siblings, so no I didn't have to
Lucky you lol
I got hand me downs but I was the oldest girl in my family, so they were usually from my older brothers female friends or my friends older sisters. As a little kid I thought they were cool so I got excited whenever I got their clothes
That's cool 👍😎😎
I have three sisters so would often wear dresses around the house, to "save on wear and tear" much more comfortable than bot clothes tbh and still wear dresses round the house when it's really hot,,,
I wore whatever I had to wear cause I don't care what other people think about me
That's good
Yeah, but only because i have 4 sisters and no brothers.🤣🤣🤣
BE THANKFUL YOU HAVE CLOTHES AHOLES... NO MATTER WHERE THEY CAME FROM.. MANY COUNTRIES PEOPLE WOULD BE VERRY HAPPY TO HAVE HANDMEDOWNS AT ALL... GROW UP...
Just a question... So take your swearing somewhere else.. And none said it was a bad thing... So YOU GROW THE F UP
You can try but don't work... But keep wasting your time trying 🤣🤣🤣
And if you gonna try insulting people's mentality, at least frigging learn how to spell it 😅😅😅😅
🙂😇😈🙂 lol
honestly didn't mind, not to flex but my brother had designer
Not to but did anyways 🤣🤣 just kidding lol
*flex
well i didn't mean for it to be a flex
It's cool.. I read joking with yah lol guess I'm not as funny as I think I am 🤣
Nah. I was blessed to have parents who made enough money to ensure we lived in a nice house and didn't grow up wanting.
Wearing hand me downs isn't growing up wanting... Not having a roof over head out food to eat or clothes period is wanting
I'm the oldest so no I didn't have to.
That's cool
That's true
Im the eldest so... nope 😁
Lucky you.. Lol
Where do you come in line? Lol
No I was the oldest and the only boy
Oh ok
I definitely did. But it usually didn't bother me
That's good then 👍🙂
Right lol
Nah I was the first kid so I only got new stuff
Aww man lucky you.. I was 4th youngest out of 5 girls so yeah 🙄🤣
I lived 🙂
If I'd had siblings I'm sure I would have
Lucky you didn't... I was 5th in line of 5 daughters, so unless gifts... Mostly hand me downs... Till 13 when started babysitting and buying my own clothes, that of course my sisters would try to sneak and borrow when I wasn't there 🙄
4th of 5 stupid phone lol
That can be lonely sometimes... But might of traded... Try getting to use the bathroom in a house with 6 females and one bathroom 🙄
That's truth right there! Isn't life usually tho 🤷🏼♀️
Goodwill and garage sales for somethings
Oh yeah that too... Goodwill hand me downs 🤣
I never had to wear that
That's cool 😎
No, I didn't. No siblings, wealthy family.
Did you ever want siblings?
Well if you wanted sisters, could give you one of mine 🤣🤣
