Not really hand me downs. Cause most of the hand me downs came from my fat teenage cousins. That were not good on my sisters and I, which we were kids. That my mother, especially my father. Found it offensive of their children wearing hand me downs. That they thought/felt of not being good parents of providing for their children.

So my dad bought us clothes at the mall, that having sisters. We were always fighting over the clothes on school days. Lol

I am quite small compared to the rest of my family, so I’ve been wearing my younger cousins and even my nieces hand me downs for most of my life. I can still wear a 10-12 in kids shirts and shorts (not jeans, my legs are too long) and I wear a 2.5-3.5 in kids shoes, so I’ve been cursed with hand me downs. Sometimes it wasn’t so bad- my cousin who’s 3 years younger than me has nice tastes.

I always got soooo excited when my older cousins would give me their old clothes. I didn't have a lot of clothes and they always had cute things so it worked out. Now that we're both older, my sister and I will run our old clothes by each other before throwing it in the give-away pile. It's always nice to get new clothes ;p

Yes, I did. I got embarrassed about it once I got into middle school but my parents were busting their asses to make ends meet so I didn't complain. A lot of the other military kids wore hand me downs too. My mom thought it was more important for us to be able to play sports than to have brand new clothes.
My daughter wears hand me downs too. She doesn't care (yet).

I did and I hated it. I had two older sisters that handed down quite a bit. That would have been fine, except I started getting chubby so they started getting tight. It got worse and worse as time went by. Eventually I could not wear their jeans or anything because those were too small, so I had to wear hoodies and sweatpants and things like that.

Yeah that's the biggest problem, that they don't always fit the same from one to the next person, not to mention the starting to look worn out, although you want that look in jeans... But not shirts, sweaters, dresses, coats

Sweaters and coats were okay. Skirts eventually became a no go because the waistbands were smaller and my belly hung over, which was not good.

I did, but I didn't mind it so much. I only didn't like those clothes if they were out of style. (You actually care about looking cool when you're a kid, because at that stage it really matters.)

Lucky you didn't... I was 5th in line of 5 daughters, so unless gifts... Mostly hand me downs... Till 13 when started babysitting and buying my own clothes, that of course my sisters would try to sneak and borrow when I wasn't there 🙄
