Pony tails said "I'm a young woman sophisticate open too proper afternoons at the soda jerk stand talking about Homecoming prospects and polite courting subjects of friendly conversation and discourse." While Carry Fisher opened the door too big girl pony tails with those royal hair orbs adorning her side hairstyle accompaniments as proper Space Opera casual wear when fighting oppression in Galaxies far, far, away--- and maybe here someday.

I'm going to say both but it's all situational. In my mind pigtails are all about being causal. As far as I'm concerned if it's not professional unless your abby from ncis 😂 any time you would wear them it's ok and yes they are cute especially because childish is a look for girls that is very attractive like the sexy school girl uniform 😉

It depends a lot on the woman wearing them.
I've seen pigtails on women of all ages, up to over 90, if memory serves. They can look dignified and as evidence of self-care if done neatly.
We tend to see such styles as being childish, though I think that is most likely because the society in which we live has collectively decided that pigtails are the province of the young and immature. A caricature of immature youth bordering on the insane if seen on anyone aged above late adolescence.

no they are not childish, they can be very cute and very sexy on the right woman, and i've seen a lot of women out there with pigtails and even braided hair doesn't mean they are childish or immature or even trying to recreate a role of youth, sometime's it's just a simple case of how some women like their hair, other time's it's sexual, other times playful, other times sure they wanna look younger...

No, they look cute. However, I noticed it depends on the length. Shorter pigtails tend to look more childish in my opinion compared to longer ones. I never knew pigtails with Afro hair looked so great though.
