I ' m contemplating adopting a mostly barefoot life style, do you think this is a good idea?

I always loved the feeling of being barefoot, especially the variety of sensations from different surfaces, it never gets old. When living in climates with quite cold winters ( which made shoes quite necessary during said times ), after the winter would pass the increased sensitivity made the sensation overwhelming... overwhelmingly pleasant, not to mention the look. It also helps me feel much more feminine, especially if I ' m barefoot in the presence of shod men, especially ones wearing heavy work boots for example or combat boots.

However, I wonder if it ' s a good idea. The thing is I ' m shy. I guess I ' m probably looking to be talked out of it, because I never managed to get over the fear of being socially judged ( as crazy for example ). I also wonder whether it would make my feet too muscular and stocky looking ( which is so unfeminine ), thicken my ankles or make my soles too calloused ( even though I scrub and lotion them every day ) or not. Also if it would be socially acceptable? Can it be fashionable ( with clothes inspired from Indian or gypsy style for example )?
