Should boat shoes be worn without socks or with socks?

They look really dumb with socks. Also if you are wearing them on a bot and you get them wet you have soggy socks for the afternoon. The problem is that I used to get blisters if I did not wear socks.

I don’t wear them on a boat all the time, just rarely.. mostly I wear them outside but I also do get very painful blisters on my ankle

It's classic/preppy style to go without socks in loafers.
I consider it to be a fashion fauxpas to wear socks with them.

I always wear them without socks but sometimes they give me blisters on my ankles. They also hurt the soles a little but maybe because I file my feet pretty often..

Wear them with no show socks so the insides don’t turn black as quickly.

I think it would eventually even if your feet are clean. The no show sock just prevents it. Most people won’t see the inside of the shoes anyways so it’s honestly up to you. Some people feel comfortable with socks or without socks. It’s about your preference and comfort level ◡̈

You’re right. The reason I don’t wear them is because I tried some and they trapped heat. Without them it’s good if it weren’t for the painful ankle blisters that no shows wouldn’t even protect against 😖

Oooh for the blisters put bandaids over the backs of your ankles!!! It works for me when I wear heels.
