Anonymous(36-45)+1 yI know I am going to catch heat for this but I really don't get why the bikini is celebrated, yeah, I get that it makes women look sexier and guys/men will ogle at them but people should know the meaning behind them.
From Google's dictionary:
"In July 1946, the United States detonated two nuclear bombs at the Bikini atoll, an island in the South Pacific, which of course was big news around the world. A year later, a French fashion designer introduced a scanty two-piece bathing suit and named it the bikini."
Let's put something into perspective how would women feel if men bombed an island with the majority of women on living there, and the name of the island was used to create a man's new clothing line wouldn't that spark controversy?
I admit I am guilty viewing models such as Kate Upton posing for Sports Illustrated in a bikini so posting this is hypocritical on my end. But I could easily lie and make myself out to be this perfect guy behind a screen, which I am not. At the same time I don't go to the beach and I don't purposely go to areas where girls are in bikini's. I know this will garner dislikes and backlash but I know how people think online, their approach is, if an answer does not conform to their thinking even if it's in a logical way backed with historical evidence, people will still dismiss it.20 Reply

I feel a lot more exposed while wearing a bikini but they give a better tan. However they're HORRIBLE to swim in, I don't know if my bikini is too big but the trunks always droop down and almost fall off. On the flip side I'm so much more comfortable in wine peices. When I go swimming my boobs never fly out which is definite plus 😂.
BUT I CAN NEVER FIND A CUTE ONE PEICE 😭10 Reply
Anonymous(25-29)+1 yBikini. Firstly, they're more comfortable. Secondly, I can get a better tan. Thirdly, I kind of do like the attention I get when I wear them (as long as they're not super creepy/just checking me out).

as far as optics go, bikinis are sexy if the girl is fit. IF they are not high rise bikinis
High rise bikinis are just, meh. They look like the girl is trying to be sexy but comes across looking like she's wearing granny panties.
Now a older style low cut bikini? THAT is sexy if the girl is fit.

If you like them, go for it. But to me all I see is "I want to wear a bikini but I don't feel fit enough so I swapped the bikini bottoms for granny panties."

+1 yOut of those two examples, the bikini was the far better fashion. More broadly or generally, i'm not fussed because some women can look good in both or only in one. My preferences change depending on i guess the woman i'm dating or that i'd fancy dating. Neither of those two appeal to me either.

They are made to give us a self esteem boost and tbh, to attract men. Men see better than they can think.

+1 yWear a bikini if you look good in one, and you want to. Girls who wear bikini's but don't have the figure for them ( meaning fat rolls falling all over ) should choose a more suitable garment. On the other hand, if you feel good about letting the fat fly, go ahead.
00 Reply I like how bikinis look on me, & I like the freedom of movement.
If I'm swimming, diving or doing other activities I have several athletic bikinis for this. They're designed to stay put so I don't have any wardrobe malfunctions.20 ReplyI feel that once piece suits are cool and classy and elegant. But I do enjoy guys staring at me and that happens more with a 2 piece. However, I would prefer to wear nothing at all but we definitely can’t do that. LoL.

+1 yAs a swimmer myself, it really depends. I prefer one piece whenever I swim in an indoor pool. However, I stick to bikinis whenever I go to beaches or if I'm outside.
30 ReplyThis is a CRAP answer, but it's HONEST: I can find a way to love anything she is comfortable wearing, in public. When we are alone, she's a little more 'relaxed' and less body-conscious, because she knows she is FCKING WOW!! to me!
10 Reply685 opinions shared on Fashion & Beauty topic. All types of bathing suits are nice except the ones that are just strings or netting where you can see everything. Think the one piece and the kind with a little skirt on the bottom are extra classy tho.
10 ReplyOtter than my grandparents retirement community pool, I only wear two piece suits, or I guess it is still a one piece if I’m topless.

+1 yI visit beaches a lot and I prefer bikinis mostly, since they are really comfortable. Bikinis are great for tanning when your trying to relax out in the sun. It is also great for beach volleyball, which involves a lot of movement. One pieces are harder to go to the bathroom in. I have half a wardrobe that consists of bikinis and rarely one pieces.

+1 yWhen it comes to one piece swimsuits, I love practice and training variants like Speedos mainly due to the fact that I participate in my school's swim team. I also feel much more comfortable in them when it comes to lane swimming compared to normal one piece swimsuits. In spite of that, I always wear bikinis on the beach, since they work better when it comes to tanning and relaxing.

I keep a few practice and training swimsuits for my swim team too but also quite a few bikinis. It feels like some of us are quite obsessed with swimwear as swimmers ourselves.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI like one-piece swimsuits. I find many of them elegant, but not all. It depends. Some are plain, while the others are remarkable. I particularly like the ones that are ruched on the body, scrunched butt but this one is hard to find.
30 ReplyI wear exclusively one pieces because I need to be able to be active in them without fear of it falling off, but unless I'm at a pool I wear either a rash guard or a wetsuit over it anyways.
10 ReplyI play beach volleyball must days so I prefer thong or at least cheeky

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yIt honestly depends on how I am feeling that day. I find bikini's a bit annoying sometimes. I always have to check if the top is in place etc. But one pieces are annoying when you suddenly have to go to the bathroom.
