LISTED IN ANY OF THE DICTIONARY REFERENCE SOURCES AND THIS IS MY OWN DEFINITION.
EXOTIC IS A GENERAL USE, ALL PURPOSE, ONE SIZE FITS OFF VAGUE GENERALITY OF A LABEL TO BE PLACED ON PEOPLE WHO ARE TOO INTERESTING, TOO UNIQUE, AND TOO MUCH FUN TO BE AROUND, FOR YOUR AVERAGE PARTY POOPING SQUARE TOO LOOK BELOW THE SURFACE AND SEE THE TRULY INTERESTING PEOPLE UNDERNEATH THE UNFAMILIAR SHELL OF SOMEONE WITH SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT SKIN COLOR OR SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FASHION SENSE OR LANGUAGE DIALECTS. IT IS AS RELEVANT AND SPECIFIC AND HONEST AND LITERAL AS BLACK OR WHITE, ARE MISTAKENLY PERCEIVED AS COLORS BY A LOT OF PEOPLE BUT IN FACT. when i hear exotic it’s mostly used to describe beauty that isn’t the conventional blonde hair blue eyed white girl with big boobs. when a girl has more olive or brown skin, dark hair, dark eyes etc is considered exotic. “exotic” is my type tho and it’s not like it’s uncommon so is it really that exotic? 🤔🤷‍♂️

If you're in a predominantly caucasian region, probably being someone from a whole different continent, that looks very different from your average gal there, also looks different from the figures on billboard and ads and celebs/models there because obviously they have been copy pasted all over, someone that doesn't adhere to your local beauty standards but still look attractive. Someone that is alien to your culture and way of living. Clothing. Personality. Language. The person that sticks to her own cultural identity. Goes on in her own way. If most of the people there have big huge eyes, then small eyes are exotic. If thin lips are average, plumpy lips are exotic. If pointy nose is average, then flattish wide nose is exotic. If angular face is average, then fatful face is exotic. So I'm imagining... an Asian pacific person from southeast asia who serves food with banana leave or a black person from africa? A Mongolian from Mongolia who is still in tuned with her culture, and proud of it? Yeah something like that. And practices her cultural art too. Let us know that the world isn't just about western world or etc.., the world is much colorful.

Exotic to me means someone who has unique features that I don't see often. Race doesn't matter in this respect.

Exotic has two meanings
1. Something from a distant of foreign country
2. Attractive or exciting due to be out of the ordinary.

I would say 2 is more relevant in my case. I've heard this word used for me a lot. Mostly I used to get attention because in one small village where I lived every single girl was plain, blonde haired and blue eyed. Although there were some standout pretty girls, as the black sheep I always got the most attention - from adults, boys, teachers, etc.

I had been travelling, I was bilingual, I looked different and everyone was super interested all the time.

That really depends where you are in the world. I'm from North America and if I see a blond-haired blue-eyed person that is not exotic to me. But now I am in the MENA region and a blonde haired blue-eyed girl cannot walk in the street unharrassed. I mean like she will be chased down.

Now the beauty that you'll find in North Africa and the gulf regions is exotic in North America from. So it's a little bit relative.

I also really hate the term exotic because it is usually describing anything that is other than a euroentric Beauty standard.

Perhaps features that stand out either relative to their features or just rare in general. For example, a black man with blue eyes. Now, blue eyes aren’t exactly super rare, but among black people? Definitely not something you see often. Another example, would be some mixture or amalgamation of blue, green, and gray colored eyes on a person. I’m sure you’ve seen eye colors that looked like a mixture of a few colors. In this case, this person has an eye color that is rare, not just relative to their personal features but rare in general.

It really just means something that you are not used to or haven't encountered before. If I as a white American man would say a woman looked exotic, I would probably be talking about someone who isn't white, and comes from a different country/culture than my own. Or maybe an interesting mix or races or cultures. I don't really view it as a negative term, though some who are called it might. I find those things interesting, so I like "exotic" women.

I have met plenty of different type of people in my life, so for someone to be exotic to me, might be different than someone who has only been surrounded by only people who look and talk like them their whole lives.

I think of a skin color which could be said to be a mix of all known skin colors all together.
I've seen a number of women who exhibit this type of color with admittedly fake tans who look extremely exotic.
I know that it's not any typical type of a person's real color, but it comes amazingly close to a few real life women whom I've seen who are of a certain ethnic mix that exhibit a deep, bronzish tan with hints of some other attractive colors mixed in as well.
I'm not good enough at color identification to clearly describe them, but yeah, that's my number one recipe for being exotic looking, all other features are secondary to that special skin color.

Exotic is different from region to region. In England I am exotic whereas in India I am not. In India an attractive young White girl with blonde hair and blue eyes would be considered exotic but in England that would be the norm. Whatever is different from the norm but is pleasant to the eye is exotic.

No but it usually implies a different, not frequently referred to, look. I locked eyes with an Egyptian woman who was sharing a streetcar with me and about 400 other Cairenes. I caught her eye after she ran a fingernail down my arm that was grabbing a vertical post. She was a beautiful woman already but the almond shaped eyes, partially dark flawless skin was also different looking than beautiful North American women look. It's an added feature of beauty that doesn't necessarily make someone more beautiful but maybe more striking to a guy who has known mostly white and Asian women.

Mostly I think when model agencies or people describe finding someone with that exotic look, it tends to mean racially ambiguous or having strong ethnic features that stand out in a crowd of people that generally look more or less the same. For example, my friend is half Japanese and half Hispanic. People are constantly asking him "what is he" because they can't put him in a particular racial box just by looking at him because he looks so different as a combination of these two races. His mix is so striking to people. He gets a lot of stares---half from those that think he's hot, and the other half just trying to figure out what he is.

It sounds like they're saying that the person is weird looking.

I checked the dictionary definitions of exotic and saw that it can mean simply originating somewhere else (non-native) or interestingly and mysteriously unusual or uncommon. So to the primitive tribes living in Papua New Guinea, you and I Bella would both be exotic-looking people.

Using the word Exotic, to me, seems like a way a white person describes people who aren't white. I remember this being used in the 80s and 90s to describe a non white woman. Weirdly enough back then, I do not think it was meant to be racist, but totally is.
