Why do poor people wear brand clothes?

So nobody thinks that they're poor. That is LITERALLY the entire point of the fashion industry and "trendiness," by the way, dating back hundreds and hundreds of years. And it's mostly fueled by women; the kind who buy $700 Gucci and Louis Vitton bags that are made with $20 worth of material.
Many poor people (not me, however) tend to also be poor merely because they are bad with money. There's the irresponsible poor and frugal poor. And there's the Nouveau Riche/Tuhao, the tacky rich (especially of rappers and athletes, where is how you get the word "gaudy" to begin with), and the wise rich, who tend to be investors and people who put their money back into making more money, so they can continuously make money without lifting a finger.
In short, smart and stupid spending exists on both ends of the financial spectrum. I'd be one of the "smart" poor people though, because being poor f*cking SUCKS!

The "rich" (in most cases) is wealthy because they care about permanent goods. They spends money on education, spends extra time at work, etc. This sometimes excludes worrying about how they look.
The type of "poor" that can afford these clothes and gadgets is less wealthy (in most cases) because they care about temporary goods and pleasures. Instead of studying they prefer to party, instead of worrying about work, they take positions that don't take much thinking and stress. They care about how they look to make their present moment more enjoyable.
I don't think any style is better than the other. One is less enjoyable at start and improves as you get old.
The other one is great at the start and gets worse as you get older.
I've actually noticed that the people who are always buying the fancy high status stuff tend to not really be able to afford it. I've noticed the same with cars as well, though it's more that the people who can't afford them always want a brand new car it seems, while I know several financially stable and even well off people still driving older, yet very functional cars.
I think the people who tend to want to flash their belongings tend to be ones who are trying to convince others that they have more than what they really have, and that they are not, in fact, broke or poor. People who already have a lot don't really feel the need to prove anything to anyone, and usually realize that it's not smart to flash wealth, anyway.
People spend money on things they like.
My sister is poor and she has brand stuff.
I'm the one who purchases them for her 🤷♂️
A lot of people who wear stuff like that either have more money than you think or receive them as gifts.
A close friend of mine didn't have much money growing up, but her mom always bought her expensive clothes and laptops because her mother didn't want other kids to think she was poor and couldn't afford things.
That's the trap. It's called "keeping up with the Joneses."

Contrary to popular belief most poor people are actually nice people. They're honest and hardworking, they just have lowpaid jobs. The one's you have to be careful of are the one's in designer branded clothes, they're either stolen or brought with the proceeds of crime.
the guy in the pic represents someone rich... that doesn't have to worry about going into an office to work
the man in the pic represents the billionaires... and he does not have to worry about showing up at the office to work either, he owns the whole thing... lol
they last longer and can be cheaper I. The long run. Besides, you don’t know what they paid. My wife gets designer clothes from resale shops for about 10% of retail. Her latest was an Armani blouse for $80 that was over $1000 new. A few weeks ago she bought a pair of Manolo Blahnik sandals, maybe worn once, for $40. If you saw her you might assume she’ is wealthy, but we’re not. She’s just a champion shopper.
Being fake I guess. And having their priorities mixed up, which is probably how they became poor in the first place.
You're sadly mistaken if you think people with a 6 or 7 figure income wear cheap clothing. They might not wear the douchey colors and designs that minimum wage people wear, but make no mistake; they don't wear 20.00 shirts
I never buy brand name anything. Store brands are just as good at a fraction of the cost
I believe that people who cannot afford these brands choose to do so because of their insecurities.
the rich dont spend their money and thats how theyre rich, and the poor... well you know.
Because they're fucking retarded.
And that's why they're going to stay poor.
And I agree entirely with what @MCheetah said.
You don't get rich by spending money.
Investing is not spending
Investing is dedicating money to something with the anticipation of it increasing in value. The sole purpose being to increase wealth. Spending is exchanging money for something for the utility of the product without any anticipation of the value increasing.
That’s the bad kind of Man Child
