What do you think of wearing athletic wear to work?

Should people be allowed or they should stay expected to dress formal at work?

An employer has the right to project a corporate image and ask or require employees, that interact with the public to dress in a fashion that reinforces the image of the company. In other areas of that don't interact with the public, the company has a responsibility to make the workforce be safe and to not cause distraction. If you are unhappy where you are, the job market is is in your favor for you to change jobs now. Good luck.

The way I see it, if someone is handling something important to me, I want to know they take it seriously. Outside fitness settings, Nothing says "I'm not what serious" like wearing athletic attire.

That's okay if that's your industry. However, I couldn't do it. I wear business attire mostly.
