Rant INCOMING!!!
This is what happens when you let like a dozen dudes try to tell you what every dude in the world wants. Trust me you're here for a reason, so are your female friends. Because some dudes found y'all moms attractive and had a field day with em. Conversely y'all mommas felt the same way about y'all pappas. Everyone is hot enough to find someone. We just got visually spoiled by all the options around us. But everybody type, every height, every hair and eye color, every skin tone, has it's fans. And then you got some people who got hung up on that stuff when they were younger but took a personal journey to recondition themselves through some awesome life lessons and experiences that forever changed their perceptions of beauty (I'm on of these people).
If a girl is such a sweet woman, to do something so nice for me that it brings me to tears, she becomes and ABOSOLUTE GODDESS to me. This happened with a girl I went to massage school with. Not my race, not my culture, not what I was traditionally attracted to, but damn it the kindness she showed me... I never had anyone do anything nice for me like that up to that point. It wasn't even crazy, she simply bought me lunch and I broke down crying with such gratitude and I was so moved and touched. We reconnected years later. We both admitted that we would have been a great couple, we were both into each other. She was into me from the start, and I was into her after that event.
Beauty is SO MUCH MORE than looks. I promise you anyone can lose that shallow shit attitude for the right person under the right circumstances. I had become a hard hearted bastard up to that point believing love was bullshit and not really possible. Oh how wrong I was! We've become way too visual, much more so than is natural. We've been conditioned to think a certain type is what we want or need. Looks fade, the heart remains. When all those chips are down on the table you better damn well believe looks come last!
Who's got your back? Who's gonna be there when it matters most? Who are you going to grow with and go on this adventure with? Who do you want to raise children with and by? I'll take a plane jane any day, ANY DAY over a spoiled rotten goddess of beauty with nothing but her looks and a long list of demands on who/what she wants and expects in a man. Those girls will tow the line eventually or simply die alone. No one is going to have every single thing you want in a partner. But it doesn't matter. What matters is how they treat you and your relationship!
Phew... rant over... sorry about that. I know I got off track a few times haha! ^^

Yeah the fashion and marketing industry just keep things moving along, swapping n changing.
Personally, modern version of 1920’s Flapper
No sure we are ready for mainstream steampunk. Whiles it’s semi tongue in cheek, the fashion industry does greatly influence how when need to look to wear those new designs.
unless there is some control on social media a relative small number of social media types and fashion industry will influence humanity than ever before.
Nope. Classical/conventional beauty has always been the same old feminine beauty. The baby faced/innocent look and the small nose, small v shaped jaw, big eyes, high arched eyebrows, plump lips, hourglass body etc...
Beauty trends change just like fashion trends change but that doesn’t mean the overall definition of a conventionally attractive face changes.
The slim hourglass figure is timeless, it’s a classic. That’s why fitting these ideals makes one a timeless and classic beauty whereas looking like Kim Kardashian with a big bum and long face (horse faces aren’t attractive - ie. Bella Hadid) will only get you to fit into a trend for a few years and then you become irrelevant.
Marylin Munroe, Aishwarya Rai, Salma Hayek etc are timeless/classic beauties. They fit all the criteria of conventional beauty.
Yes! I remember when I was a kid, women would worry about their butts looking big in certain pants. Now, it seems big butts are all the rage and they even sell butt pads to create the illusion of a bigger butt!
Trends in general, when it comes to anything, tend to come and go, and usually eventually cycle back around. The thing about most is that they're easily changeable, but body type varies greatly on bone structure/genetics/how the body stores fat/etc.
I didn't realize slimmer hips and broader shoulders were seen as ideal in the '70s. I have those features and have always felt I had the opposite of an "ideal" body, since it seems that the silhouette of an ideal woman's body has been curvy hips and smaller shoulders for years.

The one thing people don't seem to notice is that these very preferences are being set by the women themselves no one is forcing that onto anyone.
It's just that one woman rises to fame and all of a studden men wanna sleep with her so women decide they wanna be her.
All you need to do is not make that decision but the problem is society doesn't bend to the will of a single or a group of people someone somewhere will flaunt a body type and someone somewhere else will copy it creating a "trend"
So yeah I have definitely noticed it but it never seemed weird or even wrong it's just how trends evolveof course. the concept of beauty changes a lot through time. because life circumstances change a lot and therefore the habitual necessities to survive change, which consequently changes the recognition patterns of what's seen as "favourable" physical traits.
in times where starvation and scarcity is a thing, people tend to find more chubby/fat partners attractive. in times of abundance, people tend to favor skinnier people. and then of course there's fads and trends... nothing stays the same forever. It doesn't really change much. All the trends you see aren't hitting a true form, they're all spiraling around true form and what is being documented is women's attempt being attractive. The reality is that different guys find different things attractive and that no particular form is going to be unattractive to guys overall. It's just women getting a stick up their butt acting like this is somehow a problem with men, when really women primarily drive these trends.
So no, I don't notice that what is attractive changes.
I notice that what women tell me that they think I'm attracted to changes. What the media tells you changes. Men have been pretty consistent over the years, and looks have never been as important as media has made you think.
Some guys like rail thin, some guys like a thickass booty, some like huge milkers and others like the chest of a 12 year old boy, flat and barely bee-stings.
Stop listening to magazines and shit. They are just trying to sell you something by saying "You're flawed. We can sell you the thing that will fix your flaws."
That's marketing 101.oh yeah totally. just drives home the point how socially constructed "beauty" is.
and if you go back even further you'll find that bulkier women were more desired. They were often the subject of many paintingsYou do realize it's almost never mainstream guys driving fashion and modeling fads, right? What the majority of men find physically attractive hasn't actually changed hardly at all.
Just because there's an influx of fat women on magazine covers doesn't mean it suddenly became more than a niche demand.Mode doesn't change mens preferences just the females cloth habits. It all an illusion to sell stuff to women and earn money on their competition about attention. It doesn't really change mens preferences. All the fat chicks today doesn't change men to want more fat chicks, it what they try to shame men into but it doesn't work that way. Men taste doesn't really change its biological. It takes many generations for it to move.
Men's physical preferences vary depending on reproductive behavior which will depend a great deal on economic and societal factors.
Post war, there was a very rapid population growth which coincided with the preference for thicker women, which has since declined until pretty much its lowest point around the 90s.
I think it just has to do with men's desire to reproduce.
Future economic security will be a factor, but probably also personal motivations.thing is, this is all about media and not about what we really find attractive at all... i have always been attracted to the same type of girls and when i talk to others, their tastes haven't changed either but perhaps thats hard to know when you aren't 54
The media tries to portray what they feel is the healthiest body type and make it appeal to men (Biology/procrastination). I feel over the years they’ve learned that skinny doesn’t equal the most healthiest body type and so now we’re presented with the women with smaller upper body and wider hips as being sexy.
Yes those preference shifted slightly. However I think if woman who was considered 1921 as pretty and feminine could travel 100 years forwards in time, she would be considered attractive nowadays.
I'm attractive according to 1990-ties beauty standard and I don't have a problem with it. lolIt is just as interesting how one thing never goes out of style: a waist-to-hip ratio of about 0.7, which is something that Marilyn Monroe, Twiggy, Sophia Loren, and Kate Moss had in common. It is correlated with health and fertility, and studies have shown it to be optimum for attracting men.
It's technically not changing of anyone's preferences.
Each of those arousal types are different people projecting details about what they like onto the public.
All of them are still seen as attractive by some people in every generation.
Whatever any media outlet says is "in" is just some random rich guy's opinion.Yes. Back in the 80s abd 90s, the go to appearance for women were red lipstick or a darker shade of red. Sometimes they’d cake up their faces a bit too white. Permed hair.
Today it’s a diverse style. Some do tans. Some do detailed contours in their face with makeup. Tattoo eyebrows. Botox. Highlights on hair. More revealing of skin. Less is more for clothing. Bob cut hairs. Wavy hair. Leggings. Jeggings. PJs? Lol. Those are what I notice and usually see every dayBeauty standards are pushed by women. You have your men who encourage it because it's in their preferences. You like who you like regardless of what societal standards are. Who cares what they want? Be certain about what you want and what standards you set.
Of course. This is been happening throughout history. There will always be a change in what is popular.
One thing that some women get hung up on though is thinking that a popular trends for models and celebrities is indicative of what most men want, when in actuality it's indicative of what clothing lines want.
The only feature that has consistently been desirable and never changed is a hip to waist ratio of 0.7Yes it has changed. Women were supposed to be very generously curvy and now they want skinny with some curves. In the future women will have to undergo plastic surgery to be considered beautiful as already the trend of calling such women beautiful or perfect has started. People don't care as long as the results are good.
Pretty sure that's just how life works, opinions change and are subjective to everything including what period of time it is in.
So yeah of course. Changed for men too.Yes I remember when j wwas a kid there were lots of of emphasis of stomach and stomach area in general and also hip bones.
Its subjective. Its a slim group making the standards and is what happens when you listen to only a select few. It happens to Men too, but its not noticed as much.
