as a female myself, i honestly dont know. i find it kind of gross myself. but i noticed that black women especially often tend to have long ass eyelashes that look like spider legs and crazy nails along with very flashy clothing, jewelry, and accessories. i think that the women that have such long nails just like attention or something? that's my opinion on it at least

It’s so hard using long nails. Close to impossible. if you don’t make a living off of being an Instagram model or if you don’t have a maid like Cardi B, having those long of nails is super difficult to wear.

I think that's part of where long nails originate from as a fashion thing - It shows that the person /doesn't/ need to do manual tasks, they have someone else taking care of them.
