How uncomfortable are high heel shoes?

Guess we have all seen girls later in the evening walking barefoot and carrying her heels so not surprising they are voted as uncomfortable. Bamesjond points out that some girls are incredibly agile in stilettos.

There have been times when I have just gone Wow she can do that in heels!

I studied partner dancing for a while and one of the girls competed nationally. Part of her routine was to go into a handstand over her guys head then to drop sliding between his legs. Then she was pulled through his legs and rotated as she was. The momentum carried her up to maybe waist high above his head. Then wham, back down on the dance floor in a perfectly landing on her stilettos and without pause onto the rest of the routine.
Many years ago I saw a girl walk half a length of a train carriage in stilettos. So what, I guess is the immediate response I guess. But this was a old fashioned train carriage and the floor was grating. If she missed the grating she would have gone ass over. No she hit the top of every grate with her stiletto heel every time.

I think this is a bit like the peacock's tail feather. The tail feather is purely a liability but he demonstrating how fit he is with such big tail feathers.

Let me say it this way. Every shoe gets uncomfortable when you wear them long enough and when you do things with them they are not made for. For heels the time frame is significantly shorter than with other shoes. Also think about them as made for standing and sitting. Than its totally fine for a few hours even a day. They are really not made for walking. It can be done and a quick trip is not gonna hurt but it shortens the time they feel comfortable. That all depends on the hight of the heel and also some are more comfortable than others. So how comfortable? From yes they feel good, to I dont want to walk for a few days.
Add on:. As a dancer I can say its deffinitly possible to dance with them, but thats really nothing you want to do for longer time periods in one day.

hmmmm it depends…
what type of high heeled shoes are they?
do they fit well?
do you know how to walk in them with a good posture?
how long are you gonna be wearing them?
will you walk tons in it or just mostly sit?
what type of grounds are you walking on with it?

I would say, the discomfort level varies based on those factors… they can be extremely uncomfortable and painful, but they can also be just a tinyyyyy bit uncomfortable… lol

They're not the worst thing in the world. Some block heels or platforms are pretty easy to walk in. I can't walk in stilettos at all though. Some narrower but short heels are also kind of tricky to walk in, you worry about twisting your ankle, but it doesn't cause pain or anything.

It's always a relief to take them off at the end of the night though. The feeling of putting your feet flat on the floor after wearing heels for hours is phenomenal.

Depends in the heel. The very high thin heel pumps hurt a lot more than chunky high heeled boots are. The thicker the heel the less it hurts.

I'd imagine after wearing them for a while they can hurt depending on the style of the shoes. since some styles have taller or thinner heels which could likely be harder to walk/stand in for long periods of time. however high heels are typically anything over 3 inches in lift so low rise heels are anything under that. or at least that is what my uncle who used to own a shoe store many years ago said.

Super uncomfortable since i have to cram into a smaller size, never found stillettos in a mens size 12.🤣

But seriously as a man involved in fashion, certain feet are more suited to certain styles of heel. Also its practice practice practice. There are muscles in the foot that get stronger w regular wear. I personally know women who can rock 6inch stilleto heels on 1 inch platforms and fucking run and jump in them... they may in fact be strippers but they didn't start out that way.
