Why do people hate tanned skin nowadays?

I don't understand when people compare a tanned or naturally brown skin with mud. It makes me think of chocolate, caramel etc.
In a country like India it still makes sense because poor people have darker skin but I don't get when people from white majority countries say they don't want a tan. It used to be fashionable to get a tan but now people like pale skin it seems. Why would one want to look like an average person from their country?

In the West, people tend to love sunny weather. "Enjoying the sun" is a thing for them. Fairness creams do not sell here. Here in the UK its pretty much cold the whole year round, the people prefer going to warm destinations for holiday and don't mind a tan. May i ask what source you got the info regarding your question from?

Everyone should be proud of their skin I choose camo as my color 🐶 but my girl says her skin is like burnt honey. I adore her skin she is so smooth from head to toe. I think she looks good with a dark tan but I don’t care much, she looks beautiful to me no matter what she does, probably cuz she’s got class

I can’t tell if this is a serious question. I’m tan and no one says anything. (Yet they mostly hate me anyhow despite it) I never heard that before. If your tan then why ask the question? This doesn’t make any sense to me. It better not be a joke or some count up.

Part of the problem is white people are more acceptable to skin cancer. But I still like a tan skin. It seems to be more healthy, you get your vitamin d.
