Why is skin tanning considered a trend and skin bleaching a form of self hate?

In my opinion, I dislike bleaching and fake tanning pretty equally. Nothing really screans insecurity quite like someone needing to alter their skin tone to think they're attractive.

Tanning is a natural process. Skin darkens when exposed to more sun.

Bleaching is an invasive chemical process.

🤦‍♀️ no honey, u poor thing 😂 I mean when Caucasian women go to tanning booths (if u know what that is ) not when they get blisters and turn pink and red from the sun 😂
