When it comes to K drama, are the girls on those TV shows a good representation for what eastern Asian women look like?

I was having a conversation with a girl and we stared talking about k dramas somehow. I said “I don’t like k dramas but the girls are nice to look at.” She replied “Asian girls don’t really look like that. They only pick the prettiest and lightest ones.” But the girl was most likely JEALOUS.

In all countries, actors are the cream of the crop but that is also true for singers, and most athletes. Yeonmi Park, from North Korea is none of those and she is beautiful.

Yeah most of them look like what is shown because beauty standards are way more stricter over Korea. Also common people only come up as K-pop idols or Actors. There aren't many Celebrity type families over there where the kids of the family also carry the genes of their good looking parents. Plastic surgery is really common there. Honestly most of them won't match the Korean standards of beauty even above 80% (few examples of near perfect Korean looks are Kim Jisoo, Cha Eun-woo.)

Being good looking is really really important in Korea. Hence yes most people in Korea look like Celebrities only.

South Korea is the PLASTIC SURGERY capital of the world. You can , thus, find some beauty over there in the cities. Don't compare those with ANY natural women. Asian men are the most skilled surgeons. I respect the surgeons a lot for being so good at their work. It is kind of sad though because the beauty is not genetic. Also don't expect to find any coloured eyes over there. I have been to China and the average woman looked something like this:

50% look like that... as in white. It's a Shame thing so big hats and white skin is real. There also are plenty of Latina/Filipina look-a-like... not sure which one they are... but wait-that choppy English sounds Asian not Spanish or Taglog... She is Asian... that's Thai... But from behind looks Latina to me...

I mean.. I'm I've been in South Korea for over a year now. Most people i see do not look like that, but that's the same in America. Actresses and actors are usually good looking.
I can't say for sure with facial featuree though because i came during covid. Didn't get to see what people in Seoul looked like maskless. The ones in my area do not.
In general, you shouldn't take what you see on tv as facts.

As KelleyNice has already spoken, they usually pick the best ones. The girl who spoke to you, jealous or not, has stated facts. They usually take the Asian women that resemble a cgi or some anime girl. Real girls can be beautiful and sexy but they don't look like dolls.

Most Asian girls do not look like the ones you see in Asian tv shows. Those girls have the bodies of 9 year old children even in their 40s while normal woman get wrinkles as they age.

No of course not. They are actresses and celebrities with access to the best makeup, styling, skin care, etc. so of course they’re gonna always look their best bc it’s their job to look good.

I wouldn't trust it. The cosmetic surgery industry is thriving over there. They do look incredible though.
