Which style of tattoos looks better?

My goal for the next few years is to get tatted up. I go back and forth between wanting these two styles and want some opinions. -

These pictures are just examples of the styles so don’t vote based off the actual tats, just the style.

Patch work = many individual smaller tats (but they would have to work well together. I don’t like when people have a bunch of random ones, they end up looking like a school desk. I really like how it’s done in the example pic)

Cohesive sleeve = one larger piece that takes up the whole area
(I feel like having one well done large piece is a lot more impressive. I don’t like the one in the example picture at all though, it’s too basic)

the patchwork is really hot in my opinion when done well.

but I agree it’s not as impactful. One dense area like the sleeve makes a statement.
depends if you want a statement or more subtle ( not that the patching is subtle…lol)

I Think Patchwork style would work perfectly. But dont get random Stuff going on there. let your creativity get the best of you, Do what is more meaning full to you and bring them altogether, like a story!! When People ask you about it you can tell them the meaning of each tattoo you got and how you bought it altogether to give a meaning to it Instead of telling them "i like these tats or objects" you know what i mean.

Cohesive sleeves tell me that guy has his shot together and plans in advance. I like that.

Personally I prefer the patch style as each tends to be a story of their journey through life, or represent something to them

saying that, last night when out, 2 of the girls had a mix of patch and full sleeve.

Cohesive sleeve. To me a patchwork sleeve shows the person didn't think the whole design through. I tend to find the people who go for patchwork are more worried about bragging about having loads of tattoos than the art and end up getting loads of meaningless crap just to say they have load sof tattoos. For example there's a girl I know who always brags about having 15 tattoos but there are all 1 to 2 inches. Her 15 cover less than one of my half sleeves.

My legs are patch work and my arms are more cohesive I guess. I like both of them but like you said it depends on what you’re getting 🤔

I’m still not 100% sure what I would want. I made a photo album of pieces I like for inspiration. The album is mostly angels, devils, mythology, astrology, things like that.
If I get a cohesive sleeve I was planning on showing my artist (I’ve already found a really good one to go to) the album and just letting him come up with a design for me

If you do decide to do patchwork you could always add cool filler in (: my friends arm is a mix of both and she has purple smoke for filler to tie it together.

I honestly like both. I have patch work because I feel it fits my personality, chaotic and not organized haha
