Did you know that today is national lipstick day? Many brands have discounts and campaigns for this. So which one is your favourite?
I HATE LIPSTICK WITH A PASSION.
Here are three reasons:
1) It portrays sexual arousal whilst concealing actual sexual arousal.
When we get aroused, our blood pressure increases, and our lips swell, part, and redden naturally. This is similar to the way female baboons get swollen red butts when they are ovulating and ready to mate: https://animals.howstuffworks.com/mammals/baboons.htm
Millions of years of evolution have taught the male animal brain to unconsciously recognize red lips on a female as a sign of sexual arousal, causing him instinctively to start thinking with his little head. Whether or not this is a good thing will depend on what the girl wants, but I would argue that tricking men into thinking you’re always sexually receptive is cruel as it gives guys mixed signals, and unwise because girls will have more trouble finding decent men for long term relationships and are more likely to complain that ‘all guys only want one thing.’
Is tricking guys into thinking that you’re sexually receptive what you really want?
2) Our sense of what ‘normal’ looks like has been skewed by big corporations.
In the west, we get bombarded by advertising. We see hundreds of images every day of ‘beautiful women’ using commercial products, and we hear manipulative messaging such as “because you’re worth it”. Why? Because the beauty industry has a financial incentive in making women feel ugly, and telling them they can make themselves look beautiful if you buy their products.
Why does society put up with corporations manipulating us? Economists puts GDP on a high pedestal, and measure the strength of an economy with things like ‘consumer confidence’. They get worried when people stop spending money. So, when corporations manipulate people into spending money because of a ‘new need’ that didn’t exist before, this is a fantastic thing for the economy.
The sad part is how many women can feel peer pressure to conform to this photoshopped ‘norm’ and are made to feel inadequate when they don’t.
I love how more and more supermodels are posting pictures of themselves online wearing no makeup to show just how much the industry is skewing our sense of what beauty looks like. Real beauty is on the inside!
3) Makeup consumption is squandering finite resources and increasing pollution.
It’s just more stuff that has to be created from ingredients sourced from other stuff like palm oil (which is an industry in itself that has caused enormous environmental damage), and adds so much unrecyclable waste to landfill and contributes to plastic choking up our waterways.
Considering all the ways that man-made pollution is damaging the planet, waste from makeup could be the most unnecessary one.
I love a girl who has the resolve to go out on the town with zero makeup. My personal preference is zero lipstick because (1) It allows her natural beauty to shine, and helps guys to know when there is genuine chemistry. (2) It says something about her values, how she chooses to spend her money (prioritizing things which are more important). (3) It says she is strong psychologically and not going to succumb to peer pressure, and (4) It says she cares for the planet and her environmental footprint.

I didn't realize it was national lipstick day. It's kind of hard to keep track of all the "national days" these days. also national oysters on the half shell day, national oil change day, national get your dog neutered day (not to be confused with national get your dog spayed day), national swat a fly day, national cowboy hat day, national fecal incontinence awareness day, national wine glass day, national live oak tree day, national suede leather day, national asphalt day, national fishnet stocking day, national plumbers day, national sweater day, national world map day, national peacock day, national rye grass day, and of course national teal day.
I like the Blooming Sheer Lip Balm by Origins. The color is called "Fuchsia Fields." It's reddish pink color.
It's technically a tinted lip balm, and not a lipstick, but I'm counting it. Because it comes in a stick form, and it's put on your lips. It doesn't stay on the way lipstick does though, even after it's dry (which takes a long time). And the color is a lot fainter.
I like it because it's moisturizing, and it's made with natural ingredients. That's the only brand of lip color that I will wear, because I don't worry about what's in it, and it doesn't dry out my lips. Also, because the color is faint, it doesn't really look like I'm wearing lip color. It just makes my lips slightly darker, but it doesn't take out the natural color variations.

I have always liked girls using these...
I always wondered why girls don't put it on their pussies as well 🤔
Or did I miss something?
I don't care much about lipstick paintwork, and I only notice mismatches, over-application and aggressive signal red's.
Strangely, some girls to me look good in... black.
I’ll just smear a little motorcycle grease. Good to go.
I love red lipstick the most. Love how it contrasts with my skin and eyes. It is reserved for special days like my birthday, weddings etc. I feel sexy when I wear it.
I prefer tinted lip balms, or lipsticks with a creamy formula that can be used on the cheeks as well, as blush in light pink or rosy color. To complete the look, I add some clear gloss on top of it.
I don't have a favorite brand (as long as the lipstick I wear isn't tested on animals or it's cruelty free) but my favorite color lipstick is red. I like bright red, like perhaps a bright crimson red or something like that.
I like the nude pink shades from Huda beauty! I prefer nude colors to bold ones. I’m too anxious to wear those! 😂
I prefer lip gloss though. How about yourself?
Everyday is international something or other. I like deep plums, reddish purples and coppers. There was this amazing shade of pink Revlon made that I can't find.. it was a pearly dusty rose.
Oh sweeet, mine is blue and... Nyxz? It's usually a shade of blue, one shade of purple and rarely red... just as rare as my black lipstick.
Dark nudes.
Sometimes a real matte-matte, Sometimes very glossy. Sometimes one color , sometimes ombre. Just not a "whiplash red" unless someone is a really solid "winter".
Any lipstick a woman can put on that does not look clownish. But most women don't know how to put makeup on either
I really like the glossy soft Korean lip look. It's like a polished pink.
i like reddish type of color lipstick. i only use a little to make ombre lips and add more gloss. chanel lipgloss, the best! <3
Rose & Slay and Sangria Time.
I like the transparent one, you can never use too much or too often.
Anything that looks natural, isn't neon colored and tastes good lol
Anything that is close to their skin tone looks really nice I think 👀
I like pastel pink and passionate red, but still prefer gloss more than lipstick
watermelon colored. not too red, not too pink
Not used any for years. I wouldn't know which is best these days.
