I'm not used to showing off my shoulders and arms in general. I've always been a bit self conscious about them because I am top heavy and losing weight there is incredibly hard.
So this time I decided not to ask much chubby I look in them but I want to know instead whether you find it to be a cute outfit?
I wanted to take a whole picture with the heels but I just couldn't take a good picture.

It's basic, but still nice and cute. Combo of the top and high waisted jeans accentuate your figure really well. Shows off the showers nicely. Heels perk up the bootie. Only accessories you'd really need are a hat (I love hats) and maybe a long open button shirt, I'd go with beige.

I don't think the top goes well with jeans, if you're going for sexy, maybe some shorts, matching colours to match your top, then maybe some thigh boots with almost matching colours, that way you can then accessories with hair clips or a scrunchie if you're going for something like a ponytail to give a more enticing look.

In NYC it's used as everyday wear for almost anything even in some bars lol If a women isn't going to work, about 50% if them have on yoga pants/ leggings. I prefer the low waist jeans, but yeah that's what is going on in NY at least.

I think you're just getting caught up in trend. Low-waisted were around for a quite a while some years back, and look at all the muffintops we saw! lol. Now in tops, the industry has moved on to crop tops (even with fall and winter sweaters and jackets, which doesn't make much sense, but at least you can layer another top underneath.)
Mid-rise have always been the most versatile, and most flattering for the most people.
Just don't count them out. Not all jeans are made equal. The denim colour and distressing also factors in. Go to a department store where they have a bit more selection (although that has changed now; it's more fast fashion than ever, and styles have gotten much narrower.)
Pants that sit a bit lower have a bit more of an edgy look to them, a cool factor. Plus, it accentuates the difference between your waist and hips (something men are instinctively attracted to, like a magnet. They look (subconsciously for a.7 ratio.)
