Do thick lens make us look bad?

I have a high power of -12, and I wear thick glasses.. I've been told by people that I look very different when I remove my glasses, and I've seen that when I remove my glasses, there are many people that give me compliments and notice me, but when I wear my specs, I usually go unnoticed.. Even a friend of mine said that, no matter how beautiful one is, thick glasses makes one look unpleasing to the eye.. Is that true?

Boy/Girl: Can’t you get contacts for that ⁉️ I mean no one is going to marry a woman knowing she’s got that kind of deficit going in.-I don’t know that but it definitely reduces those odd. Aren’t there other options, girlfriend ⁉️

Seriously though you probably do look far better without them, maybe try collamer lens surgery or whatever it's called, highly effective from what I've heard
