Mostly for work reasons. I work in a jail so electronic devices other than a wrist watch are forbidden. If something happens in the jail (Fight, need for CPR, drugs found, etc.) I need my watch so I can accurately document times in my report.

A watch is especially handy in a CPR situation where multiple rescuers are present. There are times when an inmate overdoses and you have to give CPR for minutes at a time and giving CPR can become exhausting very quickly. With a watch, you can accurately time things where one person does 5 cycles of CPR (takes 2 minutes if done correctly) and then have someone else do another cycle.

Watch is not just a watch anymore. In addition to chronometer features like alarm, stopwatch/timer, &c., it is :

GPS, dive computer, integrated sonar air monitor (scuba diving application, where I can keep track of not just my own air, but others diving around me), altimeter, heart rate monitor, calorie tracker, sleep tracker, fitness tracker, touchless pay device, barometer, compass, messaging, music.

Tbh, my watch has so many features I'm not even really sure of all the things it does.

The 165 page instruction manual can tell you all the stuff I left out. lol

One of my bikes doesn’t have a clock in the dash, and it’s a pain to dig my phone out of multiple layers of clothing, especially in winter. So I wear a necklace watch, it’s just easier to access at stoplights.

I haven't worn a watch since I was a kid, but I keep one in my pocket. I need a new one because my current watch went through the wash too many times. It survived the first few times, but finally decided that enough was enough.

A lot of men wouldn't consider themselves properly dressed without a watch. I'm not one of them though.

I wear one to tell time at work. I need to keep track of time and keep things on schedule and I don't want to be taking my flip phone out of my pocket and opening it all the time to check the time. Plus it would set a bad example by using a phone during class time.

I stopped wearing watches when I hit 35. Gave me too many "Old Man Vibes". Only bring out the Rolex, Omega, and Co's when at a formal event. It's like wearing a tie.
