What is your gemstone?

Do you like it, or do you prefer another? Do you have it on a ring or other piece of jewlery? Mine is opal, and I do have an opal necklace I made from stones I got from India and Ethiopia.

Well, I don't have my own type; do you mean birthstone? That would be the garnet, I think. It's nice, since they come in pretty much every color, and are more readily (and cheaply) available than many of the other, fancier gemstones.

My personal go-to, however, is tanzanite. It's not particularly well-known (well, not in the circles I move in; I suppose I don't know what the rest of the world thinks), but despite only coming from one place (Tanzania, if the name didn't make it obvious), it's still cheap, and is a beautiful shade of blue that goes with pretty much every other color; it's a good match for nearly anything you try to pair it with.
