I love gemstones and have quite a few, including amber and corals, jaspers and agates.

I guess my favorite might be a true-red ruby or garnet. Garnet is my birthstone.

I also like emeralds and dazzling green colors.

I designed my wedding ring. It is shaped like a class ring but doesn't bulge as high on top. It has Celtic swirl shapes with a spiral in the center. 18 k gold with pure silver in the deep recesses. There is a 3mm diamond in the center of the spiral and four 2 mm stones - red garnet (my birthstone) opposite a citrine, and peridot (my wife's birthstone) opposite an emerald (for Ireland) outside the spiral in the swirling patterns.
It sparkles really nicely. I only wear it on certain occasions.

I'm something of a hematite enthusiast. That level of shininess just appeals to my inner crow. As does the titular effect of alexandrite, come to think of it. Tanzanite's color is absolutely gorgeous.

And I have to toss in a word for calcinite, since I very much appreciate minerals named after enemies in X-Com. We don't have enough of those.

I have one,

I was rock climbing at 16, about 2200 m above sea level, a part of the crystallized mineral fell in my hand. I kept it for years. I still have it at home in Georgia.

That stone has been far more precious for me than any other jewelry I’ve had, because I earned it and I took it with my own hands from the rock.

I like the Tiger Eye and the Amethyst a lot. I do not have any super expensive gemstones like the Sapphire or the Emerald or the Ruby.

I've always liked watermelon tourmaline and ametrine.
Something different done by mother nature.
Nice opals, and of course diamonds, natural, not labs.
It's kind of cool looking at them and knowing that it is a million years old or so.
