Pulling and dragging with a necktie?

I am writing a short story about a wealthy businessman whose bullied by jealous male cousin. The bully grabs a hold of his necktie. Just wondering if someone done that to a necktie that is knotted properly up as far as shirt collar with top button closed, would the wearer feel them tug at it

Depending on how the tie was grabbed, different things could happen. If you're wearing a neck tie and I'm standing in front of you pulling down, it's going to force your neck down, if I lift up, it's going to tighten like a noose, if I pull it behind him, it will tighten and possibly give the skin carpet burn type thing.

Ties are made from all different qualities of material and generally softer/silkier is considered nicer.
