I have a pair that are black and really puts my ass out there... Yeah, I don't enjoy it. :X Little bit toooo much ass for me... sooo if I wanna wear somethin' short, I'll wear a skirt or boy's shorts.
Unless I'm exercising, that's when they come in handy.

I have, will, do wear them when the situation is right. Thankfully I have the legs for them. But it's situation appropriate. Like, not to a bar or grocery shopping. Running is a good example.

I usually wear shortie shorts whenever I go to the beach. Although I usually just wear my bikini top while driving there (especially if the top is off my Jeep), I'm just not comfortable driving while wearing only a bikini with nothing to cover me at all.
My gym shorts are quite short, lol, so yeah, I guess.
Other than those and two pairs of swimming ones, I only have one pair of cut off denim ones that show a bit of thigh.
On days off I often wear really short cut-offs with a T-shirt or short sleeve blouse and heel sandals, gotta show off these legs, lol!!
