In the US I think very few people wear pajamas. Young children wear them but adults rarely do. Most people sleep in underclothes or nude.
I usually wear a robe after I get up. I do sometimes go outside wearing a robe. That's usually when someone comes to the door and I go outside to talk to them. I don't stray far from the house though. I might also go outside to get something from the car or check the mail.
Pajamas outside? You surprise me my fellow fascist friend.
I will not go further than the end of the driveway to get the mail unless I am properly dressed for going in public.
I see going in public in pajamas as just another decline in standards. This was once unacceptable. Granted it’s no major sin or wrong to do so. I see people do it often. I just feel that this is all part, granted a small and largely insignificant part, of the continued decline in standards, exchanging what is comfortable and convenient for what what is proper.
I liken this trend to wearing shorts in church or crocs to an opera. No major sin or wrong doing but just another symptom of a decline of society as it’s a lower standard than what should probably be the norm.
If I went outside to get a newspaper or turn the sprinklers off or something I might wear pajamas, but not to go to breakfast.
Although I do wear pj's during the wintertime, I certainly wouldn't wear them outdoors.

I haven't had pajamas since I was a toddler, so no.
I take trips to the mailbox in my boxers. They cover more than my swim bikini, so I see no problem there.
I'd be butt-naked all the time if the law allowed.
Gen Z do it all the time. Looks awful. I am pretty sure it's mostly a North American British phenomenon.
It’s not about looking good though and most stuff look bad nowadays
Clothes were good in the 30s but it’s kinda impossible to find those fashion now
And no plenty of French do it in the countryside
I do it cause i stay in pajamas in My house and just forget to change when i have to pick up some stuff
May I ask what’s your style of clothing?
@alice55
FYI I agree the clothes in the 30’s, to me the 20’s - 50’s were so much more fashionable. To me that was the hight of fashion.
At least for men you can easily find fashion from that era. Dress pants cover the pants portion. I almost always wear button down shirts. I have many vintage style bowling or lounge shirts with no logos.
I do wear jeans though with the same style of shirts.
Wing tips are easy to find as are a variety of Oxford style shoes.
I always wear shoes, and a nice button down. Depending on where I’m going I’ll either wear jeans or dress pants and I wish I could dress pants everywhere but unfortunately it’s a tad overdressed for many occasions. I feel this style looks classy, demonstrates self respect, is of higher standards, and is appealing to the eye.
I consider it a shame these styles are no longer the norm.
My style is vintage and historical. I wear all kinds of authentic clothing from the 50's, all the way back to 1890. Jackets, trousers, shirts, etc. When I can't find something authentic then I just buy modern business/dressy, such as button ups and chinos.
Those styles aren't as hard to find as you may think. A lot of people make up excuses. Even if you can't find authentic vintage then at least you can imitate it with modern clothing. The vintage scene is quite large in the USA and different parts of Europe.
@wraith
I do the same. Substitute modern dress clothes for vintage. The styles are similar in that way, albeit the material is usually different.
I don’t think this style though is common in the US at all. Maybe for work and that’s it. I almost everyone dress down in modern fashion.
Modernity has been the death of everything from morals to fashion.
The west needs to go back at least 80 years in values and style.
@Exterminatore Totally agree. Everyone dresses like slobs nowadays and have no respect for their surroundings. The morals have disappeared along with it.
It puts a huge smile on my face when I see someone dressed up nicely because of how badly dressed most people are.
@wraith
Absolutely!
I don't own pajamas. When I'm home I don't wear clothes. If I go in the front yard I'll put shorts or pants on ( there are young kids in my neighborhood). If I'm going in the back yard I won't bother putting anything on
Doing what? Not wearing clothes
I love not wearing clothes. It is so much more comfortable without clothes. Nothing to restrict my movements. I was brought up in a nudist family. I raised my kids the same way.
If you were brought up in a nudist family you would feel differently about it. A person's self esteem is higher. We don't do anything inappropriate with our family members.
Not me, but that's very common where I live. Even to school people wear them. Sometimes I'll go outside in my shirt and underwear, but if I'm going further from my house I wear regular clothes
Oh my goodness... I love lazy women... I think they're so sexy:)
I don't own pajamas. I have clothing that is good for all, and I rarely wear it inside home.
They are sport clothes, but that don't look sporty.
The important thing are the colors. They are white shirt, and everything else black.
Quechua, you know. Designed in France :D
Sometimes I need to step out of the house quick and if that is what I got on, then yes.
yes all the time... its even better when the weather us hot
I do sometimes if I don't care about getting dressed like to throw out trash.
No, I usually get dressed before I leave the house.
Not really, unless I just need to go in front of my door.
never use to, but the way they look these days i have many times
What is a sleeper?
Ok, gotcha. 😂
yes? Especially if it's just for a moment
No I don't think I even own pajamas
