How much height do high heels actually add?

Someone once told me that if the heels are f. e. 4 inches, do they do not really add 4 inches to lady's height. Do they?

Since the heel is at the back of the foot and the leg is in ftont of it, you get slightly less gain in height. Say a quarter of an inch or so.

Toe height doesn't matter, just how much it raises your ankles above their normal position.

I typically wear 5 inch heels and I think they add about 3 inches to my height. The ones in your picture would add less because there is height under the toes as well.

I'm 5'8. My daughters are taller than me, but we're the only ones under 6'. My dad is the tallest of both our families at 6'7.

The women are 6' on both sides, so they might get a little taller. It's unlikely given their ages. One has a 32in inseam!

Sorry, but I'm totally green on the inseam topic. I get it's related to legs:to torso ratio, but I would be grateful if you explained this to me.

Men's pants are measured by waist and inseam. The inseam is from the center seam of the crotch to the bottom of the ankle (along the inner seam of the pant). The seam is the stitching where the fabric comes together.

For me they only make me an inch or two higher honestly. But it mostly depends on the person who are wearing the shoes cause each person is different

About two inches, the wedges I have oh make me an inch taller. The block heeled shoes I have make me just an inch taller. In conclusion in heels I'm still short

Hey, you have it good in a way, that even in 8 inches you would still not be tall :) You don't have to worry about it when picking heels

It depends on how high the heels are, doesn't it? If they're 6'" heels, they're certainly not gonna add just 2" to your height, are they?

I'm 5'8" in bare feet, and I measure just a bit under 6'0" in 4" heels.

Well if the heels have cushion then they may not add that much height but if the heels are of 4 inch then it will add that much height normally.
