What's worked for me in the past, is cutting off that corner that's growing in if you can get it in time. Once I had to have my doctors cut the skin to get to the nail and trim it.

The other thing to try is go to your salon and get a pedicure -- they can usually fix it. I've done that too.

Even if you don't want to see a doctor, you should go to a podiatrist. You usually don't require a referral from a regular doctor.

Soak your feet in Epsom salts. Take a cotton ball and use a cuticle tool to push the cotton ball between the skin and your nail. That will help your irritated skin heal while allowing your nail to grow and and cause less damage to the skin.

Cut the top of your toe in a U crescent and not rounded off. Ur cells will move to fill the gap now created, growing in towards the center the nail, and not towards the sides where it's cutting into the skin.

Foot soak, epsom salts, cotton ball... every night for 4 days at least. Probably a week

Did you take care of it already? I've had those before. I've used Ichthammol Ointment and rubbing alcohol/vinager, but if it's really bad it won't correct itself without going to a pediatrist and having it cut

I've always cut the corners of the toenail so it doesn't grow into the skin. It will be painful but it will feel better in a couple days
