Ingrown toenails?

My toe is a little swollen and bruised because of this, I'm afraid of going to the hospital, how can I treat this?

Ah man, ingrown toenails suck dude! I've dealt with em before and they can definitely be painful. A few things that might help:

- Soak your toe in warm salt water a few times a day. The salt helps disinfect and soakin it helps reduce swelling/pain.

- Gently wash around the nail with soap and water to keep it clean. Don't dig at it though!

- Try using over-the-counter antifungal creams to prevent infection if the skin looks red/inflamed.

- You can tape the sides of the nail to help guide it out and relieve pressure. Use medical tape or moleskin.

- Take some ibuprofen for pain/swelling. Should help take the edge off.

- As a last resort, you can try trimming the sides of the nail yourself carefully with sterilized clippers. Go slow!

- If it's still not improving in a week, you may just need the doc to fix it up. Don't wanna mess with infection!

Go to a podiatrist. You'll probably just give yourself sepsis.
