When I did it it neither boosted nor crushed my confidence it just helped me live in my body & have it related to as a physical functional aesthetic & not as sexual, which was real important to me bc everything is so sexualized and I always pick up on peoples feelings thoughts it’s real difficult for me to disentangle even if it doesn’t align with my beliefs or thinking. So it was really valuable to be in room where people were studying a Buick of pieces not a potential good or bad sex fantasy.

Depends on the person. By the time I did it, I wasn't having any real issues with self confidence. Main thing it did for me was help me be more in tune with my body on a way. Like, it made me more aware of what I looked like. It did feel empowering to be seen as artwork and not just what's seen by my namesake here

I had done it for a friend, and it certainly helped me with my body confidence. Doing the same in an environment of art studio with many people around could be much harder, as other feelings before confidence may come into play... But, I think your question was for either of these cases, so I'll say it does have a boosting effect.

I've never done this and I don't think I will start. I can see how it would make you more comfortable in your own skin if that was an issue for an individual. One would also need to consider the motivations of the individual painting you, as well as your own motivations.
